Hyundai Accent 2000 overheating

My car has already become overheated 3 times, I'm worried, I have changed spark plug and cables, also I changed the electro fan and it even keeps on increasing the temperature when I am driving for few minutes, the cooling system consumes a lot of water in a little time and when less I imagine has already overheated. when the car is cold, I add water for the mouth of the radiator after having filled the plastic water container, the water bubbles strongly and the radiator expels the water out with intermitent effect : is this normal? help me please, I do not want that my engine is damaged.

If the water bubbles in the resevoir when the engine is running, the head gasket could be blown. There is often white smoke (steam) coming from the exhaust.

Temp gauge says cat is overheating, but it's not hot and doesn't smell like antifreeze

By cat I assume you realize this is a warning for an overheating catalytic converter not the engine, the Cat is locate in the exhaust system and can cause a fire.

Overheating

Try to jump the fan out. and wire it direct. The temp switch might be bad, and not kicking the fan in??? Also have you changed to theromatic out, It might be stuck???
