I my understanding it is a charging coil noise when you turn on ignotion. But after noise every thing is fine no need to worry. I have a similar problem in Toyota sienna 2001. You can't remove the noise unless cahange all electrical system (Wirring) with new one. However it is expensive.

Thanks, take care.

This could be almost anything from loose trim to broken body parts, you should get the car checked by bodyshop to make sure that it is safe to drive

1996 VW Jetta 5 speed- how do you turn off noise on dummy alarms (check oil & stuff)??? I dont mind the light but buzzing wont stop & i cant fix car for a week or so...

in the old days when that annoyance stuff came out, there were buzzers plugged into the fuse block, which used to be somewhere under the dash. so you found the fuse block, by ear or by looking in the owners manual and you touched each little box until you touched the one that was buzzing. Then you just unplugged it and that did the trick. annoyance gone and not one dollar spent. these days maybe the buzzers are still plugged in there and again maybe the Germans have hidden them elsewhere or wired them into the car's electronics to defeat that type of **** stealth, but it is worth taking a look. good luck

Service engine soon indicator on and a buzzing/whining noise.

i recommend that you take it into auto-zone or a car shop asap. from what you have described the ticking as, it sounds like a bottom knock. as for the whine i don't know.

Grinding noise driver side front at low speed . have changed hub assembly goes away for a little while then comes back . can spin the hub and dont feel like bearing is bad. really getting to me

Did you recently swap tires from back to front. I had very annoying wheel bearing type noise and the tires were not noticeably worn (Bridgestones) but apparently some wear pattern was causing my noise. Swapped them back.

2003 Dodge Durango makes a funny noise when the ignition is turned both off and on. Sounds kind of like an annoying hum. Stops after a couple of seconds.

Usually the humming or buzzing noise you hear at start and turning off is the fuel pump being activated or shut down.
