Question about 2001 Dodge Neon

Stock radio stopped working

I own a 2001 Dodge Neon with a stock stereo and 4 disc cd changer. One day my stereo stopped working. Now I have the lights on my equalizer flashing red in 3 different brightness levels in a pattern. I still get power to my cd changer. But nothing happens when I push in the knob for the power/volume. Please help.

I bought a 2001 Chrysler Neon this afternoon... I tried the stereo and everything seemed to work great. Shortly after, I drove to a friends had dinner and when I started the car to leave, I noticed the equalizer lights blinking rhythmically and the radio wouldn't work. Like the previous poster, The CD changer below is fine. A friend checked the fuses and says they are fine. Any guesses?

yeah I too have the same problem. The only thing is I don't know which fuse goes to the radio as the fuse box diagram doesn't say radio-15 amp...or whatever. Am I checking the right area in the fuse box under the hood?

Exact same problem. Just purchased a 2001 Chrysler Neon today. Radio/Clock do not work. The 4 disc changer under the raio has power, and will take in and eject cds. But the radio does not work. Only sign of life is the 3 orange blinking lights from the equalizer adjustments. Any ideas? Anybody been able to sove this problem?

Have you checked the fuses. Usually under the dash or in the glove box.

I have a 2001 plymouth neaon and my stereo stopped working but the lights on the bass and treble buttons keep on flashing

the internal amplifier has shorted out. You can send the radio out to be repaired for about $125. not really worth it...

We can't get the factory 6 disc cd player to load more than 1 disc. What is the sequence for loading additional discs?

The following is the owner's manual for your 2004 Dodge Neon:

P.99 describes how to load discs:

1. Select and press any numbered button without an illuminated light above it.
2. Insert the CD while the light above the chosen button is flashing and the two lights on either side of the slot are illuminated.
3. Upon insertion, the CD will begin to play, and both the button light and the lights in the corner of the loading slot will illuminate.
4. Repeat the process for loading any additional CDs. The CD playe rwill stop while additional CDs are loaded.

Playing Discs
The radio will show the CD number, the CD track number, and the Track Time Elapsed while the radio is in the CD mode. IF more than one CD is loaded in the changer, the changer will automatically play the next disc after playing the last track of the current disc.

Wow, that's a lot of typing.
I didn't know the 2004 Dodge Neon had such a nice changer.
Good luck.

Different wiring plugs

If it were me, I'd cut off the connectors and switch them, but I solder things every day. I don't think they make any adapter wiring harness for this problem.

6 disc cd changer jammed

you need to yank out that POS stock system go to car toys or best buy even wal mart get the proper harnesses and a head unit (cd/mp3 player) and install it yourself its extremely easy on a neon and should cost around 70+ depending on the equipment you buy and then crack open that old cd player and get back youre cd's stock systems are overpriced junk worth 10$ in the real world and 200+ in a dealership
