SOURCE: left blinker light stays on solid when headlights are on

I have had this happen and it is rare, but I have had a filiment burn out in a two filment buld and short to the other filiment. It does happen and I think this might be your problem, the only way to find it is a visual inspection of each bulb. I am sure many people will think this is crazy, but I have had the exact same problem, I had the schematics, tested the circuits, etc. and them by accident found a stop/blinker 1157 bulb that had done this exact thing. I hope this helps you, check the bulbs in your headlights also.

Just found the answer on another site. Sure enough went out removed the 3 philips head screws in the steering column opened it up and walla a wire connection had pulled itself free. When my son uses my truck he always uses the tilt steering, when I get in I have to readjust it. because of this the wire connection pulled itself out. I simply pushed it back in an blinker and brake light are now working. My husband is now trying to figure a way to secure the wire connection so it doesn't pull itself out again. Hope this helps others, either by saving the cost of a dealership or machanic or from getting rear ended.

SOURCE: 1995 windstar LX - turn off power headlights stay

This is normal. They time themselves out. Is the switch in the auto position? If so, turn it off, and they will turn off with the car.

Check the book and make sure you are using the proper bulbs on all sides. (3957 looks just like 3956 but wont work right)

Replased right front blinker bulb. when taking broken burnt bulb out of socket wires crossed i could smell somthing burning front bulb works now. but the rear running lights dont work and head lights

Get a multimeter check for DC voltage at the light sockets. No voltage means blown fuses. You can also use the multimeter to check the bulbs to see if they have somehow blown.

I just recently purchased a 2000 Ford Windstar. The headlight on the passenger side will not work. I have replace the headlamp and the fuse to that part....still to no avail...no light. Could you help me...

If you bought your truck at a licensed dealership or used car lot, most states require that if the vehicle will not pass inspection, the seller must repair the vehicle at their expense. First check for corrosion in the headlamp bulb socket. Also check the headlight relay and for damaged wiring between the bulb, relay and fuse box.

Fuse 16 and 7 blows when lights are on

seems odd, but I would check the sockets for signs of a short. These are for the left headlamp and the left parking lamp. Remove the connector from the headlight bulb and see if it's burned or melted. Similarly for the lail light, but in this case, reach in thru door in back and turn socket CCW to release from lens. Take bulb out and inspect socket. Let me know if you have questions.

1995 ford Windstar LX: Driver window works fine; passenger side worked ok one day, quit the next. L&R rear vent windows don't work, either. Switches are fine, no blown fuses. Motors seem ok. No warning...

go to mitchell1diy online for the diagnostic procedures. Your going to have to take the door panals off and you will need a electrical tester.

Check your fuses under hood and on dash. Some of these use two different fuses for rt. & lt. Look in you owners manual for the correct fuses to check. If it is a fuse problem, you will have to find out why the fuse was blown. Good luck
