A misfire alarm typically means the coil pack mounted above the sparkplug indicated in the misfire had gone defective.

To test it, swap the coil pack with another cylinder, and see if the misfire goes from #2 to the cylinder you put it on.

If the misfire continues to be on #2, then consider changing the sparkplugs.

I hope this helps.

If you have changed spark plugs & coil pack(s) and still have a misfire at the #2 cylinder location then you should check the condition of the contacts (making good contact or might need cleaning) at the coil pack or if there is a crack in a wire in the harness that leads to Cylinder #2 coil pack, that's where I'd be looking for the problem.

When I drive my 1992 Isuzu Rodeo SUV the check engine light comes on..I can't accelerate past 65 miles per hour..The vehicle will not kick in as the speed on the highway here in North Idaho is 75 mph?

the best thing to do is read any hidden codes in the transmission. not all scanners read that. second check input and output transmission solenoids

I have a 98 isuzu rodeo and it wont stay running unless I keep my foot on the gas. The check engine light isnt on so I have no clue what to do, can anyone give me some suggestions please?

hot or cold engine,or both????????????????????
sure...
the ECU works OVERTIME; hard, to keep the engine running.
this is done by the action of the ISC valve.
so can you keep it running with a fast right foot??????????
a real mech needs to drive car.
does it have full power on hills?
is the tune up service done, the 60kmile repeats and needs to be done.
the ECU can not keep idle right on any engine that runs like crappppppp.

1: all fuses good.
2: engine never warms to normal 180F+ temp and hold???
3: not tuned up.
4: engine misfiring.
5: engine flooding.
6: engine starving for fuel.
7: OMG, the ISC wires fell off, (inspections do work on old cars)

there are simple tests. for each case.
one more #8. EFI system lost 12vdc power. stalls.
12.6vdc not running, 13.3v -15v running.

I get a random misfire code when my engine is idling on my 04 isuzu 3.5L...i have changed sparkplugs, check all coils, replaced fuel injectors and still get same error message...what should i check ne

you could have a vacuum leak somewhere. check the fuel filter, it may be going bad. and battery. all these will cause a random misfire code. as well as your plug wires. intake air leak, spray carb cleaner around intake manifold while engine is running if the idle changes, then you have a leak. Good-day! but check for vacuum leak first! a vacuum leak will cause engine to hesitate and lose power.

Have a 2002 Isuzu rodeo, the check engine light tells me ignition coil misfire.I just had an aftermarket installed a while back. Now mechanic tells me it needs the original part and not an aftermarket...

Do you have the exact code? An aftermarket coil can still fail, especially if it is not designed for your ignition system and the output/input readings expected by the ECM. No matter what, it is worth a try, it is not difficult to change it out. But I would still like to know what the actual code is.

2004 Isuzu Rodeo 3.5ltr 4X4 hesitation/misfire acceleration

The upper intake gaskets may be leaking. They are made of plastic and metal and will leak air. Do not remove the cover on very top of manifold when changing.
