In the old days when that annoyance stuff came out, there were buzzers plugged into the fuse block, which used to be somewhere under the dash. so you found the fuse block, by ear or by looking in the owners manual and you touched each little box until you touched the one that was buzzing. Then you just unplugged it and that did the trick. annoyance gone and not one dollar spent. these days maybe the buzzers are still plugged in there and again maybe the Germans have hidden them elsewhere or wired them into the car's electronics to defeat that type of **** stealth, but it is worth taking a look. good luck

1996 vw jetta alarm wont stop honking and wont start

Obviously you have a car alarm (do you?)
If until now was OK, then you have some problem with the alarm.
Try to disarm it and see what is happening.
Good Luck.

Odometer stop working in my 96 vw jetta 5 speed as well as the tech, still read miles just not how fst I m going..?

I recently had the same problem in my Jetta. I had to have the whole gauge cluster replaced. Actually pretty common in older model VW.

I have 96 vw jetta gl 5speed... just got a month ago. needs muffler & wipers dont work. appears fine otherwise UNTIL I go above 45 (2200 rpms) then the oil light flashes and there's a horrible...

That would be the high speed oil pressure sensor telling you there is a problem with your oil pressure.Your computer is reading insufficient oil pressure to maintain engine integrity above 2000RPM.
There are 2 oil sending units mounted on top of the oil filter housing. I don't have wiring for your year so I can't tell you for sure, but on my 1992 they are brown ( low pressure) and white (high pressure). Check the wiring carefully for cracks or bare spots in the insulation and fix any you find. Also make sure the wiring is good at the plug-ins. VW wiring won't tolerate cracks and often will break right where it meets the plug-in. Also if you have recently moved these wires you may have plugged them in wrong. I would most definately get the pressure checked with a mechanical oil pressure guage to be sure of the pressure. If it's good, 29 PSI at 2000 RPM then I would be looking at a bad sending unit. Hope this helps.

Got a vw jetta and dont have original key so when i hook up battery the alarm keep going off and cant get it to stop

As long as you have a key, original or copy, when you hook up the battery use the key in the door and turn it to the unlock position, that should de-activate the alarm. either front door should work.

I have a 1996 Jetta.. My vehicle has been stalling at stop signs and stop lights.. to keep my car from dying-the only way to combat this is to put the car in neutral and keep my foot on the accelerator...

Have you checked the charge on the battery? How bout your connections at the terminals. Vw are very sensitve to voltage drops. You might even have something thats draining your battery

Horn beeps as if in an alarm mode

My 4Runner did the same thing. What I did was just put a new battery in hook it up and let it honk. Put the key in the ignition and start it and it should stop. It is in alarm mode.

Vw jetta wont let me start it

It's an ignition problem. If you keep trying to turn over it will start. It's an anti theft device they installed. The little car with the flashing key. Someone likely tampered with your ignition before for this to happen.
