Oil Change light will not rest on a scion XD 2008

This should work.

Turn the ignition key to the OFF’ position with the odometer reading shown. Turn the ignition key to the ‘ON’ position while holding down the trip meter reset knob. Hold down knob for at least 5 seconds. The light goes off, and the display shows zero for 1 second and changes to the odometer reading. If the system fails to restart, the light will remain on or keep flashing.

Good luck and thank you for using Fixya.

Resetting maintainance light on a 2008 Scion xD

To reset your maintenance reminder system (even if the light hasn't come on yet), you'll need to turn your key to on (but don't start!) and make sure your odometer is on TRIP A. Then key off. Press and hold the Odometer/Trip button. While holding down on the button, key the ignition to on (Don't start the engine!) The display panel will count down from "------" to "-"Continue pressing the button until the Trip A is displayed. After this step, you are done.

Were is the oil filter on my scion xd 2008

2008 Scion xD oil filter is a cartridge (element only) type. It is located under a heavy, black plastic cap right next to the oil drain plug. To remove the cap, you will need a Toyota "Special Service Tool" or an Assenmacher Specialty Tools "TOY640" or similar cap wrench. Toyota is the only source for the oil filter element; make sure you get a new o-ring (should be in the box with the filter element) and a new drain plug gasket.

2008 Scion XD

I don't know for sure, but I'd imagine oil, oil filter, and air filter changes, tire rotation, brake and strut inspection, and maybe a cabin air filter change. Look in your owner's manual near the back - each service should be spelled out in there so you don't go in unprepared.
