Glove compartment will not open - Durango Dodge Cars & Trucks

To remove the glove compartment on a 2007 Lexus LS460, you will need to first open the compartment. Then, you will need to locate the mounting screws that hold the compartment in place. These screws are usually located on the sides or bottom of the compartment. Once you have found the screws, use a screwdriver to remove them. After the screws have been removed, the glove compartment should be able to be gently pulled away from the dashboard. If the compartment is stuck, you may need to carefully pry it away using a flat tool like a screwdriver or a trim panel tool. Be careful not to damage the dashboard or the glove compartment as you remove it. Once the glove compartment has been removed, you can access the area behind it for maintenance or repair.

If you look under glove box you will see two to four screws that hold the glove box on. Take out the screws and the glove box will drop down and you can get inside and release latch..then you can get a replacement latch and replace.

Fuse box is located in the glove compartment. Empty the glove compartment, then the side will pop out for access to the fuses.

The cabin air filter is actually pretty easy to change. Here are the steps:

1. Set the air conditioning system to Recirculation. The case for the cabin air cannot be removed with the system in the Outside Air mode.
2. Turn the engine off.
3. Open the Glove Compartment
4. unclip the damper rod on the ride side of the glove compartment. To unclip it usually it is just a squeeze tab but sometimes it is a phillips head screwdriver.
   
5. The glove compartment now must be squeezed together at the rear to allow the tabs to be released. Just let the glove compartment hang down.
   
6. Through the glove compartment opening, locate the filter cover and remove.
7. Remove dirty filter and replace with the new and reverse steps 1-5 to put it back together.

Shouldnt take to long usually takes me about 5 minutes to change it.

Open glove compartment. Press inward at both sides of the glove compartment, then lower the glove compartment.Remove the lower side instrument panel and crash trim pad. Remove the four glove compartment upper cover retaining screws, then the cover. Remove the two glove compartment retaining bolts, then the glove compartment. Press on the cabin air filter cover tab, then remove the cove
Remove the cabin air filter from the blower unit opening. Install a new cabin filter, ensuring the air flow marking is facing in the proper direction. Install the cabin air filter cover, ensuring the cover is properly installed.
Position the glove compartment to the instrument panel, then install the two retaining bolts. Install the glove compartment upper cover. Install the lower side instrument panel crash pad. Lift the glove compartment into position. Close the glove compartment.

"look for your air filter box. its a big square box on the right hand side of the car under the hood. you cant miss it. ther should either be clips or screws holding the box together. you have to get the top off of it to get to the filter... just replace the filter, and put the top back on and ur good"

turn the handle and push down on the glove compartment. it will unlock and open up if you apply enough pressure

hello / if you move the glove box door from side to side when pulling on it , it will open one side first and then the other side . it has 2 hooks one left and one right / hard to explain ,/
