Battery is good still no power to dash no owners manual hard to figure out without knowing what's what on the fuses and relays

Hi Rick, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

Rick, the first move is to check at the back of the instrument cluster for power and ground. If in fact you have both power and ground at the cluster, THEN you'll need to either try to fix that one or buy a new cluster. Rick sometimes if you look on the cluster circuit board you can find some solder joints that look darker. This is because the solder has broken loose. Take a fine tip solder gun and touch it to the dark colored ones until the solder starts flowing and once you've repaired all the dark ones put it back together and plug it in. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't but its worth a try to save some money. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair-website at:

I have a jeep liberty 2005 2 wheel drive my passenger side driving light will not come on. Also instrument panel lights will not come on either.

first off ,you did electric work and skipped step 1
pull battery neg lug first.
so you blew the fuses.
what IP lights. all warning lamps.
or just the park lamps in the cluster.
part is called Illumination in said cluster.

where is these other lights, what is a driving light, (park, head, turn, what? brakes?)
tell all lights that work & not , inside and outside car.
tell what knob you turn. can be like 10x better clue...?????
burned sockets are shorted lamps, the brass base lamps love to short inside, (china made x10) get new ones from top maker....

ok, so after replacing the TL assy.
what dont work now, report all lamps.
if it's only outside lamps failing, say so..
i guess you dont know that parking lamps go to like 20+ places, inside and outside car. so. parking lamps are special if acting up
then brake lamps
then blinkers (turn signals)
then reverse.

if the parks (aka, incorrectly TAIL) are bad, then we need to know that. using the correct word.
parks are on all 4 counters, and side lights and inside car.
that is why tail lamp , is a bad name. but fuses are marked as tail on many cars.

also when working on car external lighting
make sure no trailer towing hacks are found.
look for non OEM hack jobs, at the rear corners. Uhual hacks.
or past collision damage to wiring not repaired properly.

how is that>?

How do I know if the instrument cluster/ instrument panel is the one that's causing me to have a short in my tail lights

The cluster has nothing to do with the tail lights. You need to check for power and ground at the tail light plug. Fix which ever is missing. Could also be the light switch.

Tail lights don't work and instrument panel won't light up on 2007 corolla

you blew a fuse. check fuses in both fuse boxes..
ahh yes, the IP cluster lamps are dad, but not the idiot warning lights
only the parking lights in the cluster are dead. right.?
and the park-tail, running lights and dash dim lights are all the same.
my guess three is a short on the TAIL fuse, the TAIL fuse blew
and took out: park-tail, running lights and dash dim lights are all the same.
it blew. most are marked tail even thought it runs side lamps and front parking lamps... TAIL is wrong, they are parking. lamps it truth.

What to do to replace light bulb running light

what light, ?
tell where it is on car , and its proper name.
if in the speedo cluster they all have names or symbols.
name it.

running and in tail and park lamps.
if yes, there are those all over the car, some cars

each type (5 types) are different.
but in the generic.
remove leans, remove lamp
if no lens screws, pull the lamp from behind.

Tail lights and dash lights dont work

The common power source for the tail lights and instrument cluster is the 20A TAIL LPS fuse(s) in the fuse block. BUT, in the case of the instrument cluster, there are actually two fuses with the same identification. Replacement of the fuse with the ORG wire connected should restore the tail lights when you set the turn/hazard/headlight switch to PARK and may restore the instrument cluster lamps. If not, replacement of the second fuse with the two YEL wires connected should solve the problem

2002 ford taurus dash an tail lights wnt do i fix th

Replace the fuse. Most of the time when the tail light fuse is blown it will go un-noticed. This is why they combine the instrument cluster lighting, and tail lights on the same fuse. That way if the dash lights are out you know the tail lights must be out also.
