The problem is probably low freon there should be a place on one of the hoses to check the freon level. you can usually get a gage when you buy the freon. if the freon isn't the problem than the problem is probably with the compressor. I would check the freon first.

2005 Explorer, control switch will not allow fan to blow to any vents except defrost. Air blows cold in ac mode but only to windshield. Rear air control seems okay.

This sounds like a vacuum leak. When there is a vacuum leak it defaults to defrost as a safety precaution. You will have to track down where the leak is and repair it.

2005 focus blows cold air then will stop and nornal air comes turn off car leave for awhile and it does same thing when restarted starts cold then stops cheers steve

your cabin air filter is probably clogged up, that can cause the ac to actually freeze up and wont feel cold until the car stops and thaws out. replace your cabin filter and see if it doesnt help. ehow.com has a good step by step for the process.

2005 ford explorer will only blow cold air no matter what ther thermostat is set at, and it makes a clicking noise when it is on, why is this....please help.

You may have a thermostat that is stuck closed.  If it doesn't open, hot coolant cannot reach the heater core, thereby blowing only cold air.

Temperature Control not working on 1999 Ford Explorer

Sounds like your temperature actuator is not moving or your temp door is broken. On max a-c ,coolant is shut off to your heater core allowing only cold air in.
