Do you still feel the same feedback from gear lever when you change gear or it appear loose? It looks like a gearbox problem, maybe due to low gearbox oil something has broken inside the gearbox.
do get like a clunking sound shifting between first an reverse as you let the clutch out?.if so its probably a universal joint either the one up by the tranny or the one by the rear axle.
4th gear is driven straight thru the middle of the gearbox. All the other gears are driven via the lay gear. I'm not 100% familiar with your particular box but it seems like a key on the front gear of your layshaft is sheared. This can be brought on by towing heavy loads in 5th. hope this helps.
YOU carnt have a transmission oil leak from the front axle on a Falcon as they are Rear wheel drive but could be the hose going to the radiator over the front end leaking But the rear end of G/Box should be only the OIL SEAL.
