The computer keeps telling us the lift gate is open, when it's not. It also has an abs light that comes on all the time. It tells me the air sensor needs to be replaced...even after it's been replaced.

The lift gate has a door open senser ( switch) in both latches that hold it shut. You may have to remove the door panel and manually remove and replace the faultty switch but you might get lucky by spraying bothe the latches with Blaster or other pentrating oil and repeatly closing tand opening the door what'ing the door open indicator on the dash till the switch finally opens as it's cleaned otherwise you'llneed to manually clean the switch or replace it with a new one. They have one wire and 1.4 turn into the side of the door latch. Just unplugginthem does'ntr work either as the security system won't reset if the switch is disconnected.

Should the interior light come on when I open my lift gate on my 2007 Tahoe?

Yes. The gate is like any other door for the light system.

On the dash it says gate is open but its shut tight.

it could be a sensor out of adjustment or shorted. you will have to find which door is causing the problem and check out the sensor. you can also check for a code in the BCM as this is were it is monitored. it may tell you which door and possibly what set the light.

Lift gate open warning light sounds when temp is below 60

sounds like the cold temps cause the metal door to warp which causes an increased distance to the sensor that tells the computer the lift gate is open. The lift gate sensors should be adjusted to be closer together.

How do I fix the liftgate sensor on a 2005 nissan quest

I purchased a 2005 Quest that had same damage on the rear lift gate. If I crossed my eyes and pressed down on the magic spot 3% of the time I could get the door to close in a way the sensor would recognize so I didn't have the door open light turn on.

Too fix this problem I removed the interior panel from the lift gate which allows access to the the lock and some of the wires. almost directly behind the licence plate you have access to the inside the lift gate you should see 2 wires that appear to be going down the latch. I'm assuming one of these controls the power locks and the other is for the feedback sensor that tells the car the door is open.

on the drivers side of the opening that exposes the wires going down to the lock you will see there is a white connection for 1 of the 2 wires that is mounted to the inside of the lift-gate. All I did was squeeze and separate this connection and the car no longer recognizes the door is open.

I don't have an alarm so I don't know if this would mess up the alarm other than if someone broke in through the lift gate it wouldn't trigger the sensor.

I hope this helps

My ABS and TRAC off light keeps coming on what is happening

You need to have the rear axel differential oil serviced. Metal dust has collected on the speed sensor resulting in loss of speed sensor signal. Damage to Trac Lock friction plates can occur which is very expensive. The diff. lube should have been serviced at 80,000 miles. Check the maintenance schedule in your owners manual for info on miles and intervals

2008 mazda tribute abs and all wheel problem when you start the vehicle all lights are out after computer check but drive 1 km abs lights and all wheel lights comes back on

That's telling us that the abs is passing the self check when you turn on the key. When th e light comes on after you start moving it usually means that a sensor is not sending a single or a signal is messed up. A scan tool will tell you wich wheel to focus on. It is fairly common for the exciter rings on the front drive axles to break and cause this code. It wouldn't hurt to inspect these for crackps or misalignment. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

2004 safari van ABS indicator warning light

When this warniing light usually comes on, means that you have a failed wheel speed sensor but these vehicles are common for the ABS module to fail causing the same problem. You can back probe the wires comming out of each wheel speed sensor with the wheel lifted in the air and check for ac voltage as you spin the wheel.

What ever sensor does not put out voltage needs to be replaced if they all seeem to work it is likely the ABS module. But before you replace any parts you would want to have the ABS module checked for codes at one of your local shops that has a high end scantool that can access those codes. If some job was make there, I suggest re-check harnesses connections and right tight.

Hope this helps and just keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.
