A good one is the one with sodium and its silver in color, If you decide to use a block sealant and the instruction say add in radiator with thermostat out dont do it that way. To effectively use a block sealer no matter what brand you use, you have to do it the right way, the one on the instruction is for safety standard, and by law has to be written in safety concept, Here is the right way to do it. You add it when engine is cold add it behind the thermostat, install thermostat, close up the system add coolant water in radiator top it off. start the vehicle and top off radiator bring to 1200-1500 RPM until thermostat opens cap the radiator, run until upper radiator has pressure and all the while maintaining radiator level.this way seals the seapage

My 1999 dodge 1500 la/magnum is leaking steam from top radiator hose sometime it is cold water

seems to me bad head gasket.
do aRAD leak down test yet?
a tool. that is, or get it done. (all shops know what it is)

if fails that test it has leak , then we find to WHERE net
ground , cylinders , engine pan or to OMG tranny pan.
or to passengers toes (foot wells)
if tail pipe show steam hot engine , bad head gasket, or worse
there is always worse. (cracked block or head or even intake manifolds with water cooling or bypass paths.

or do a compression test ( a tool) 150-psi and up on all cylinders, equal by 10%, if 2 are low side by side, bad gasket tops list.

White smoke coming out of tail pipe and clutch goes to floor. What would cause this?

white smoke indicates[ steam ] that your burning coolant either by a blown headgasket ---intake gasket--cracked/warped head--cracked cylinder wall--check your coolant level should by low ----------clutch dont know type yr or model of vehicle so dont know if your clutch is hydraulic or dry older style spring --hydro style anything from slave gone bad to fork damage ---old style broken spring to fork damage throw out bearing damaged

Do I need a secondary timing chain or primary for a 2004 Dodge Stratus 6-cyl 2.7?

if you have dohc the 2.7 has 3 timing chains The primary chain goes around the crank sprocket the the water pump and around two intake cam sprockets. The other two chains run around seperate intake and exhaust cam sprockets, to synchronize the intake and exhaust valve timing.

98 eagle talon is over heating when i drive it and there a white smoke coming out of the tail pipe , also the reservoir is boiling and steaming

sounds like overheating caused the head to warp blowing the headgasket ? there are always reasons this happens ? bad rad, waterpump, fans not working, thermostate, so be aware that after you repair headgasket to fix what caused it to blow or you will be doing it again ? god luck [email protected]

2003 Mercury Mountaineer with 4.6L is loosing coolant, no steam coming out of tail pipe or fluid leaking on the ground. The dealer thinks it intake manifold or head gasket. The hot oil light has come on...

dont know of any head gasket concerns, usually when the intake manifold leaks it either split and pours out or the heater hose fittings crack and leak. Check the hose connections at the intake and make sure none of the hose clamps have cracked and are leaking

Blown head gasket on 97 ford taurus

A used engine that may have less mile than yours will cost anyway from $500.00-1,000.00 plus and additional 500-850 more labor to install engine. Here is amy advise if your engine is in good condition I would definitely do the head-gasket job on it. That should come out to be less money and you know what your getting. More than likely you would only need a head gasket job and have head cleaned and polished and would NOT need to replace actual heads. Good luck and Thanks for using FIX YA
