There is no easy or quick way. You are going to have to remove your transmission or at least move it back far enough to access and replace your flex plate.

What i "think" is broken ...ie: flex plate.

the only way to check the flex plate without pulling the trans is if you have diagnostic tools like a meter with scope capability to check crank waveform to the cam waveform to see if its out of sink. if you don`t you will have to pull the trans and visually inspect the flex plate.

1990 7.3 idi auto non turbo fly wheel removal a replacement

An automatic doesn't have a flywheel, it has a flex plate instead. The torque converter makes it act a lot like a flywheel, though.

But... you're probably talking about the flex plate or the ring gear around its edge. This is going to require removing the engine from the vehicle - there's no other possible way to get the flex plate out.

Once the engine is sitting on the shop floor, it's a simple job to replace the flex plate - first you unbolt the torque converter and set it aside, then you unbolt the flex plate from the crankshaft. Bolt the new flex plate onto the crankshaft, bolt the torque converter to the new flex plate, and put the engine back into the vehicle.

NOISY FLEX PLATE, KEEPS CRACKING AROUND MOUNT ING SCREWS (3) , WELDED UP CRACKS AND REPLACE SCREWS, IN A WEEK STARTS GETTING NOISY AGAIN WE HAVE WELDED THESES CRACKS 3 TIME NOW, HAVE REPLACED NEW FLEX...

sounds like it is incorrect flex plate
for bolts to keep coming loose i wouldsay the bolt threads in end of crank have been streched thru over tightening
you may be able to redrill and tap these
to do this you will have to pull engine
you alsocannot weld craCKS IN A FLEX PLATE
FLEX PLATES flex THEREFORE WELDING IS A WASTE OF TIME
WELDING WILL ALSO PUT FLEX PLATE OUT OF BALANCE WHICH AGIAN WILL CAUSE CRACKS AND PROBABLY WAS THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM TO START WITH

How do I fit a new transmition

Automatic vehicles does not have a flywheel, it is called a flex plate that is bolted onto the cranck shaft and onto the torque convertor.
The easiest way is to put the transmission on its tail standing it upright taking care not to damage the sael at the back and than slowly lowering the torque convertor down on the shaft turning it at the same time to make sure that it engages in all the different splines in the transmission.
If the flex plate is broken it means that something caused it to break, make sure the transmission is in good condition and not jerky when you drive.
Also make sure that the bolts that holds everything together is propperly torqued, loose bolts can also cause the flexi plate to crack and than eventually breaks
