When a Honda Maint Req light blinks, but then stops, it is telling you to change your oil.
If you don't change it, eventually, the maint req light will stay on.
Here is how you reset the maint req light:
1) Turn they key to the II position With the igniition off, press and hold the odometer button, turn the key to the "on" position, but do not start the car. Keep the odometer button down until the oil light begins and ends flashing. Turn the key off, and then start car to see if it worked or not.
2) Turn the key to the off position, and push and hold in the odometer reset button
3) Turn they key back to the II position, while still holding the odometer button.
4) After about 10-15 seconds, the light should go off.
If that doesn't work, try it this way:

Reset - step 1 turn the key to the 'on' position. using the trip meter button, toggle the lcd until 'ODO' is displayed. step 2 turn the key off. now, push and hold the trip meter button. while holding the trip meter button, turn the key to 'on'. step 3 while you continue to hold the trip meter button, you will see on the lcd disply five (5) small dashes and they will begin to 'count down' rather quickly. step 4 continue holding the trip meter button and once all the dashes have been cleared, your lcd will display six zeros (000000) - release the trip meter button now - and then the lcd will display 'ODO' and your current mileage. at this time, your 'maintenance required'/oil change light has been reset.

Look at owners manual depending on the milage the maintence light goes on to remind you that certain items must be serviced. Do not take this reminder too lightly.

try this with key off push and hold the trip re-set now turn key to on position. I have a toyota and this works for it. This may or may not work for honda
Turn ignition to "ACC" and press the odometer button until the display reads actual mileage (not Trip A or B).
Turn ignition off.
Hold the same button down that you used in step 1.
While holding the button, turn ignition to 'ON'.
The 'Maint Reqd' light should blink and go out.
Done!
