Question about Audi A4

I changed out my ecu and im getting a car symbol with a key at the bottom of it and it wont stay running what does that symbol mean

You can't just throw a ECU in the car it must be programmed by the dealer or any shop with the right equipment to flash the ECU The ECU also controls the factory secuity system, that is what the symbol means, the secuity system is triggered..

the battery inside the key is only for remote door locking-unlocking...

The immobilizer transponder in the key is self powered...
If the immobilizer is not recognized by the car ECU you should have the key symbol lamp in you dashboard stay ON.

which engine the 4AFE or 7AFE toy engine.

but runs with the fast right foot , trick , right?
and runs perfectly if you keep the right foot happy, right?
all key factors in any engine diagnosis, but im not driving it so.....??

the cars EFI uses a device called and ISC,
this is idle speed controller.
if it sticks closed, it makes starting hard, and hot starts insane hard.
if it sticks open , hard starts, and when does screams.
some time the iSC is ok, but the engine runs so bad, it can't do its job.

clean the iSC. then test it. make sure it works. perfectly.
the FSM book covers this.
in fact that toyota engine, Toyota has huge documents on line
better that any car made !!! on how all this works....
Toy rules this roost.

hint on your car, lie (fib) and google search 4AFE (if it is)
Search "Toyota 4AFE iAC or ISC)
and find vast information on IAC and ISC>
some cars have 2 valves , one thermal one electric.
the thermal iAC is only working below 150F.
toy name Aux air? your car has both. 4A

the iSC is electric idle controls. (ECU runs it)
ECU controls it at all times, ECU keep idle correct at all times.
in many cases IAC means ISC,

The dash lights stay on, drain my battery, after having it jumped my car wont turn off while the key is out of the ignition until i open the driver door then the engine cuts off. but my dash lights glow...
if the key is out, and turned off, is key in off posistion (look)
if off and you have current drain, that is a problem.
your post is confusing, (car wont turn off, what does that mean)
engine stays running, or just lamps stick one,
be clear what sticks on, and we can fix this easy.
im a retired, ET, we can do this step by step.

if the engine stick on , key off, the ignition switch is bad. period.
and grossly unsafe condition ,if ever.

Hi, The clicking you hear is the anti theft system has been triggered, beneath the steering column pull down the fuse cover and locate the (ECU) fuse Labeled so on cover and owners manual. Remove (ECU) fuse turn ignition to on only, do not start, wait 3 minutes turn off ignition remove key, reinstall (ECU) fuse. Try starting Vehicle!

Take your car in and get it checked for the real problem of your car that Symbol Just means there is something wrong with your engine you need to get it check

My 1995 mitsubshi eclipes wont stay running.. i changed the fuel fillter. and i cleaned out the ecu vavle and it still wont stay running
Have you checked the fuel pressure? The fuel pump may be going out.

My 96 sunfire just quit running and now wont start, i'm not getting fuel to my fuel injectors. but i can hear my fuel pump kicking on when i turn the key over.
change your fuel filter. re-test

No efi
put the key in on position open the air filter and press the tounge for the MAF sensor and listen if the pump comes on. let me know what happen

It Sounds Like A Fuel Supply Problem. Which Means It Might Be Your Fuel Pump. Check Your Fuse's And Battery Connections Before You Start Getting Into Dropping The Tank And Replacing It.. I Had A 94 mercury That Would Run In The Winter But Would Shut Off While Im Driving Down The Road In The Summer. When It Would Shut Off I'd Listen To My Car. Turn The Key On For 4 Seconds And Off for 2 and Have Someone Listening To The Gas Tank. The Pump Should Make A Constant Tone. If The Tone Changes up and down or if you hear grinding. theres your problem. a basic electric fuel pump for a car should turn on for 3-5 seconds and shut off when you turn the key on. NOT STARTING IT.

Wont start
Hi there, there are numerous possibilities on what it could be so i have listed below in order to change first cheapest to the most expensive. 1. Change Sparkplugs and leads 2. Get an auto electrition to check your altinator it may need changing 3. If your car is EFI (Electronic Fuel Injected) change the coil pack, if not EFI change or recondition your distributor 4. Could be a sensor or a solinoide problem 5. If its EFI it could also be the ECU/ECM which means your computer for the car.
