Driver side window lower a bit when the door is opened, and stays down. Lowers more each time I open the door.

You need to have the door disassembled and the window lift mechanism checked. Sounds like the actuator arm has come off, or the motor is dead/dying. (You didn't say whether the motor makes noise when you try to operate the window.) If you're a DIYer, there are any number of videos on YouTube that will show you how to do the diagnosis.

Left passenger rear side window is stuck in the down position; motor seems to work but cannot bring window to the up position to fully close. what is the cause and solution?

If the motor works then the window should move up, this sounds like the regulator may have broken, try to lift the glass by hand and see if it moves, if you are able to move the glass up then the regulator is bad but if the glass wont move then it would have to be the motor or the switches. you can try banging on the inside of the door while holding the switch in the up postion, this sometimes helps when a motor is going bad, good day.

Driver's side window inoperable(doesn't go up or down, though it does sound as though a motor does run. Window marginally moves. I have had to manually pull the window up to close.

hello first of all

Well there are only two things that can cause this one is the regulator gears are stripped thats the gear that the motor turns to lift and lower window. Or at the bottom of the glass window when you remove the door panel there is a little plastic tab that goes thru a drilled hole in the glass that may be broken to it common for the plastic to become brittle and break.

I have a 2003 volkswagen jetta. i need to remove the glass on the front drivers side and front passenger side doors and replace it with new glass.after i remove the door panel how do i do this?

The panels have 3 t20 torx screws on the bottom and one philips head near the mirror. Under pull handles there are 3 philips on the drivers and 2 philips on the passengers sides. Pull the panels from the bottom and lift the panels up. There are 2 black rubber plugs in each door, pop each plug out and the glass is held in place to the clips on each side with either a 10 mm bolt or t30 torx bolt. Move the glass to the point where you can see the bolts, loosen, but don't remove the bolts. Once loose, you can pull the glass loose. Once loose, lower the window a bit, angle the rear of the glass up and pull it out. The glass may be epoxied in place, as VW had a problem with windows coming loose. If so, try to pop the rubber in the clamp loose (above the bolts you see through the holes) and reinstall it with the window removed.

I have a 1997 Buick Skylark, the driver side window is down about 3" and won't go up or down! When I push the power window button the window does not move, but I can here the motor running! How do I remove...

door panel just pops off if you use care while doing. the window is not off track , the motor sounds like it came loose and is not making contact with the lift / lower mechanism.

Drivers side window not working, when i press the button i hear a click and passenger side works fine. 2003 Ford Focus any suggestions thankfully recieved. Dean-o

sounds like a window lift motor, maybe try and bang on the door a few times while you hit the button, if that doesnt work you may have to take the door panel off and test the wires at the window motor

Window glass wont move

Most likely the sound is coming from your "window lift assembly" being torn up. Your window motor attaches to the back of the assembly and winds up the cable that raises and lowers your window. Most likely the cable has come unattached and is grinding inside.
You can buy a new assembly from Autozone (about $100 is what they usually run) and replace it. The first step is to remove the side panel from your door. Once the panel is off you can see where your motor is bolted on to the center of your door. Remove the motor and then unbolt the rest of the window lift assembly. Be careful though about removing the pins that attach your window to the lift assembly. Due to the curve of the glass, it only takes a little pressure to shatter the glass. Once the window lift assembly is replaced, put everything back the way it was before and you are good to go.
It is not that complicated of a job, it just takes a little patience. Good luck!

Drivers side power window stuck

yes, when replacing the small plastic roller, you have to press, hear it snap once, then press harder to have it fully set into place.
