How do I reset the home position on the front windshield wipes of a 2002 Pontiac Montana. The bolt holding the transmission came loose and now the park position is out of sink when they are shut off.

I have tried that and the linkage doesn't seem to be long enough to allow me to set it back in place on the motor and install the screw again. Am I missing a step some where?

Remove the bolt and unhock the linkage, next turn on the wipers and then turn the wipers off, this will park the motor , you will then postion wipers in the park postion and put linkage on the motor, this will line the wipers up, good day.

I have tried that and the linkage isnt long enough when on the park position to allow me to set it back on the motor and tighten it down with the screw. Am I missing a step or just not doing it right? Do I actuall take the linkage off the motor or just let it sit there loose?

this linkage is a spin type with springs and sits atop the rear of the engine area, if this is the one then you may need to remove the wiper arms and try to set it but if you can leave the svrew loose and align then do it that way, this system is hard to line up due to the way it will nee to park the motor and mark it then turn on the wiper and quickly shut key off then hook linkage up and test with arms off. good day, let me know the results.

How to change thermostat on a 2002 Pontiac Montana

I believe the Montana has a 3.4 Liter V6 Engine.
This thermostat is located under the exhaust "crossover" pipe that runs between both the front and rear cylinder heads. Divers side.
Remove the heat shields (10mm bolts) and then the nuts on the exhaust studs. (6 total)
Two bolts hold the T stat housing to the intake.

I need to replace the thermostat on a 2002 pontiac montana. I have a Haynes repair manual for 2001 pontiac montana with picture location of thermostat housing but I cannot visually find it even using a...

Where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine you will find the thermostat under that housing. You must drain the radiator and remove the upper hose. Then remove the 2 bolts holding the housing in place. Make sure to pay attention to which way the thermostat is mounted, spring up or spring down.
