Fuel pump pressure

Could you tell me what the fuel pump pressure should be on a 1998 vw beetle? I'm getting about 55LBS ,but car just starts and dies and won't rev up,however will keep running and rev up when I hand feed it gas with squirt bottle. already changed the filter. appreciate any help you can give me. p.s. I can hear the pump running and a bubbling back sound in the tank.

1999 vw beetle will not start. Engine tries to start but the moment it fire up, it dies. Doesnt seem to be getting enough fuel, but fuel pump is delivering. Seems injectors are not working. Wha

It is called pulse. Lack of pulse to the injectors is a wiring problem or a Powertrain control module problem. You should have 12 volts to one side of each injector with key turned to run, do you?

I have a 2001 vw beetle 5 speed and i can't seem to locate the Fuel Pump Relay. My car is truning over but won't start, spraying starter fluid in the engine and it starts for a moment but won't...

  • Hi, I can help.

  • The fuel pump relay is 4th over on the very bottom row of the relay panel under the hood. This can be the pump too. The pump holds pressure and when the back pressure switch fails the car won't start. Or the pump could just be out period. The fuel filter can do this too.

VW Beetle Intermittent Failure to Start . Acts Like it's Not Getting Proper Fuel Delivery.

Hi, it sounds like its flooded or the fuel pump and pressure regulator are not holding enough pressure while stopped. This puts air in the system causing a very hard hot start. Think the fuel pump, fuel filter and pressure regulator need to be replaced at this point.

1998 beetle - how to get the fuel filter off

The fuel lines are pressurized so you will need to relieve the pressure before you try and remove the filter or you will get a face full of gas. The filter comes off by pushing the fuel line toward the filter and then pushing the quick release button on the fuel line. The fuel line should then decouple - the filter lives under the car near the right rear tire (just in front) Good luck and be careful

CANT GET VW BEETLE STARTED

hi if its not been started for five years and it is trying to start but just won,t keep running get someone to tow you and jump start it because i suspect the compressions will be low due to a build up of damp carbon valves sticking all in all the seats on the head and valve will not be seating so if you persisist with the jump start it forces the valves onto the seats and will clear the debrie if it still won,t go check your compressions yates210456
