Let the motor cool ,, remove the radiator cap slowly with a rag , check the level of fluid in the radiator itself,, you may have a plugged line from the reservoir itself thats not allowing passage back and forth.
The sensor needs to be changed
It could be the coolant sensor located in the reservoir. Check to make sure it is completely plugged in. If it is go to autozone and buy a new sensor. Should be reasonably cheap around $20.
