I took a radio from one 2000 sunfire and put it in another. The LOC is on and will not work. How do I reset the code?

try speakn to a dealer tech-call service dept----sometimes disconnectn batt or sweepn with a scan tool can remedy--ask for anothr code too-cud work

sound like they are secerity code on need to be reset

turn ign on.radio must be in loc mode.hold down preset buttons 2 and 3 for 6 seconds.radio will change from loc to a 3 digit number.write this down you have 15 seconds to complete the next step.press the am-fm button radio will change to another 3 digit number.write this number to the right of the other numbers.call 1-800-537-5140 press1 then #(pound) you will hear invalid,try again.press 139010 or 106010 or 206010 or 202107 then # (pound) enter your 6 digit code followed by *(astric) listen for the 4 digit number and write it down.it will repeat twice.turn ign on radio should display loc.press mn and hr button and enter the 4 digit code.press am-fm radio should display sec it should now be unlocked. i think you need the number 106010 then #(pound) if not try all the numbers.

unfortunately if you don't have the code only a dealership can call the radio manufacturer and get it for you. I work at a dealer, and have to do it all the time it sucks, I'm sorry..

dealer has codes radio "loc"is part of security system call first they can also advise how to retrieve the radio id code which is needed or if u have manual in it explains how to retrieve the radio id code

You radio code is located in the owners manual book. If not you will need to see a dealer to reset the radio.

Take it to a Chevy dealer and they will be able to get right in. And, at least the time I took my truck there, they did it for free and in less then 5 minutes.
