Question about 2006 Dodge Ram

1 Answer

Van runs great for first 200 miles of day, but then loses power and can barely hit 50 on flat interstate--hills are out of the question. Letting it cool off for an hour will let me drive another 50 miles. Never seems to have as much power as a V-8 should. It's a 1992 with 222,000 miles on it.

KIA 2006 Sedona When the ESC off light goes on the van will not accelerate. It loses power. Extremely dangerous because this can happen while the van is on the road.

have mine in the shop for exact same problem. Turns out it is a throttle position sensor. Seems to be heat sensitive. These 105 degree days been tough. goes to idle soon as engine gets warm, then continues to do so every 20 miles or so. All the engine restarts. ( I shift to neutral, kill engine, and restart, but a big hazzard since it kills the power steering, but not as hazzardous as stalling in the middle of interstate) but it blew the engine resistor, which iis going to cost me 500.00 for the TPS and another 250.00 for the blower resistor. Hope you have better luck than me, van is still under warranty, but these were both uncovered items.

My 1993 Safari Van is having trouble climbing hills. It seems to run well when on flat surface but all of a sudden it has had trouble going past miles per hour on the interstate and slows when I go up...

Sounds like a weak fuel pump. You will need to put an inline fuel gauge to check if you have good fuel pressure, if it's over 10 lbs, you have another problem, like a clogged fuel filter. You can find an inline fuel gauge at Kragen or Pep Boys.

1999 Dodge Ram van 1500 no pick up power

I had a similiar problem on my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Conversion Van. It ended up being a partial collapse of the catalytic converter which didn't allow adequate exhaust. The problem only showed itself because I could not get over 55 mph going up a small hill.
