The door lock on the driver's door of my 1999 Honda Civic LX won't work. The other door locks work. Previous theft damage has pushed the key lock into the door. How do I get the door panel off and...

You probably have a broken plastic clip that holds the lock button actuator rod on. Your previous lock damage could have cause this also since the key lock and the button/lever lock are both connected to in internal door lock. Most auto parts stores will have a replacement clip.
Getting to the part is not that easy. The door panel needs to be removed. The hardest part is getting all the hidden door panel clips released. After you find and remove all the panel screws, use a small putty knife to pop off the bottom, then the sides of the panel. The panel hooks on over the top edge at the window, so just lift it more or less straight up. You will need to unplug the wires from the door panel. Under the panel the door is covered by a plastic sheet, carefully peel this away from the door. If you tear the sheet just just duct tape to repair it. Look inside door either at lock, where door lathes or at the button/ lever. There is a steel rod that hooks into a small hole that has fallen form the hole. Here is a link to a photo of one that is similar (not exact). Hope this helps.

I need to replace the door handle on my '96 honda civic, how do i get it off?

Pop off the speaker grill and remove the three screws securing the panel to the door frame. You do not have to remove the screws holding the speaker to the panel. Remove the window crank. There is a "U" shaped retaining spring holding the handle to the spindle. It can be removed with a special tool or just by pressing in on the panel and loosening the clip with a small flat blade screwdriver. Remove the screws in the arm rest and above the interior door handle lever.

Pull the panel from the door - be careful of the speaker wires - carefully undo the quick connect.

From the top corner, pull down on the plastic sheet.
Remove the square white plastic box that is used as a guide for the control bars.

Locate the exterior handle mechanism. There are 2 10mm bolts that hold the handle to the door frame. Remove them with a ratchet and extension.

Pop the retaining clip (it's green for the left door) free from the lock cylinder control rod, then pull the rod from the back of the lock cylinder.
Covering the back of the lock cylinder is a metal plate. Holding the plate to the cylinder is another "U" shaped spring clip that can be pulled down with a flat blade screwdriver.

After removing this clip, the metal plate will seperate from the cylinder. The culinder can then be pulled free from the inside and the handle from the outside.

Reverse the procedure to reinstall.

Its possible that need check the Honda-Civic-1996-1998-Service-Manual-Part-III

Hope help with this (remember comment and rated this post).

Unable to unlock the driver side door on a 1991 Honda Accord

You likely have a "link rod" that has either broken it's clip, or come unclipped from the lock and handle assembly. It could also be a broken door handle itself. It's very difficult to tell untill you have the door panel off to inspect. First, pull the door panel. Should be one screw in the inside door handle (#2 phillips), and 1 or 2 (can't remember) in the inside of the hand grab (also #2 phillips). To get the door latch and lock assembly off the door panel, after removing the screw push the assembly forward (towards the front of the car) and pull outward lightly on the back of the latch assembly. Once off, you will see two metal link rods with plastic clips on them, one for the door release and one for the lock. To remove the rods from the clips, look for the "open end" of the clip and push it. This will swivel the clip out of the way and the rod will lift out of the hole. About 90 degrees of rotatiojn should be enough, and from what I remember, they will rotate (looking down) counter-clockwide to release the clips After that, it's just door panel trees. If I remember correctly, there are between 8 and 10 of them. Start at the door catch/latch and work your way around. If you have a door panel removal tool, use it. If not, a single, or even better a pair of thin (1 inch wide) putty knives can be used. Flat blade screwdriver is the last resort. Once the door panel is off, check the other ends oif the link rods you just took off. If one isn't connected, bingo. If it is, then remove the door latch from the door frame using a 10mm socket and an extention. I believe there are 3 bolts holding the latch to the door. Check the opperation of the latch off the car using a screwdriver to act as the door striker, and opperate the levers the link rods move by hand. If the latch is bad, replace! the Stick

How do I remove the door panel on a 2000 honda accord?

If you have power windows or locks first remove the negative battery cable. If not you need to locate and remove the screws that hold the door handles in place (they may be hidden by snap in, or snap on clips).
If you have a manual window crank, you will need a small piece of wire with a hook on the end of it to remove the window crank (slide it behind the crank "base", hook the hook to the retaining clip and pull the retaining clip out).
If you have power windows, when you remove the handles unplug the wires to the window switches and door locks.
Next use a small prybar to remove the interior panel retaining clips (they're plastic clips that snap into the door). Get as close to the retaining clips as possible or directly under them to prevent them from tearing out of the door panel, and pry them out of the door.
Once the retaining clips are removed from the door, pull the panel upward to remove it from the door.

Installation is reverse.

I hope this information helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.
