where are the freeze plugs on the passenger side of my 01 blazer

  • Anonymous Mar 28, 2014

2000 Discovery II water pump is leaking water as fast as I can put it in through a hole in passenger side of pump. Nice round hole, is this a freeze plug of some kind that can be replaced? Or is the water pump shot? 88 mile trip and it let loose when I got home, any thoughts on reasons for the failure?

Mmmmmmmm they are really hard to replace but most likelly is goin to be a intake gasket, i do recomend you to call arrown the auto repairs and ask for a pressure test to the cooling system
this test is not that expensive and will tell you exactly where is the leak coming from, but on this type of vehicles i badly see a freeze plug leaking.

Hello. How can I know if my 1997 Chevy Astro Van's water pump need to be replaced? Thanks

A water pump should last 60,000 to 90,000 miles, about the same amount of time as a timing belt.

Common signs include coolant leaks at the front-center of the car, loose water pump pulley, overheating engine, and steam coming from the radiator.

What is an 02 sensor upstream 98 astro van

02 sensor is your oxygen sensor, 98 chevy astro carries 3 oxygen sensor. i belived your bad sensor is on the passenger side by the exhaust manifold but if not try the drivers side all the oxygen sensor for this van are the same. you need to go under the van to replace it, if is to hard to get it out turn your van for five minutes then turn it off and try again, be carefull not to burn your self. the one close to the catalytic converter is the downstream oxygen sensor ok, good luck!!!!!!

Passenger side coolant leak

I'd have to see it in person to comment. The water pump is on the passenger side of the van.
A mechanic would fill the cooling system then pressure test it for leaks.

My van still shows sign off over heating according to my thermostat but recently replaced water pump and radiator

the 4.3 engine has a problem with leaking intake manifold gaskets. check for leakage behind the water pump. did you change the thermostat? This controls the engine temp. check for rusty radiator cap and replace if worn

How do you remove a blower motor in a 98 chevy astro van

Should be under the hood on the passenger's side. 4 screws that hold it in place and one plug. Remove the screws, unplug it, remove it.

If for some reason it's under the dash on the passenger's side. Same procedure. Just might to remove the plastic cover over it.

Which is the heater intake?

There are 2 hoses that go thru the firewall on the passenger side. One carries hot water from the engine water jacket, to heat the core, and the other brings the water back to the radiator. Follow the hoses to see which one goes to the radiator and the other will be the heater intake. Another way to tell, with the heat on, the hotter of the 2 will be the intake.

My 1997 Plymouth Voyager mini van 2.4 liter van is leaking the water on the outside of the van in the front passenger side. Can't find the leak. It leaks when I'm parked and when I'm driving.

well it can only come from the radiator hoses or the water pump...

to check if your water pump is still good just take a flashlight and spot on top of the pump. there should be a little hole on top behind the pulley. if it is damp you have to replace the pump.

besides that just check the hoses one at the time
