SOURCE: won't shift into overdrive

these cars are a 4 speed auto
it you here the car change 4 times then it is going in to od
best way to try this is by following

  1. go to an open rood where you can do 100kph (60mhp)
  2. have your overdrive turned off (there should be a light on the dash board that comes on)
  3. then turn over drive on and see if the RPM drops
if it dose not work let me know and i will try my best to help you

SOURCE: 03 suzuki aerio automatic transmition won t shift into overdrive

You have two temperature lights that come on when you start the car, one red and one blue. After the car is started the red light goes out and the blue one stays on. According to the manual, (and from my personal experience with my '03 SX), the car needs to warm up to a proper operational temperature. This temperature is reached once the blue temperature light turns off, (or within seconds afterwards). If you don't allow your car to warm up you will notice hard or long shifting, rough idle, and poor engine performance. Never drive your car if the light displays a constant red temperature light.
If this solution does not work see a Transmission expert of take it to your local Suzuki Dealer.

SOURCE: 1999 ram auto trans wont shift into park

you could need a throttle linkage adjustment. first check to see if your ram will start in "park" and "neutral" only. if it starts in any other gear=faulty neutral safety switch. replace. ok, now check linkage for proper adjustment...with engine off and in park...remove intake housing..disconnect cableend from attatchment stud on your throttle body..slide cable off the stud (carefully)..verify that the transmissionthrottle lever is fully forward (idle) position..and verify that the lever on the throttle body is at curb idle pos..insert small screwdriver under edge of the retaining clip and remove..center the cable end on attatchment stud to within 0.04", or 1mm. install retaining clip onto cable housing..check cable adjustment..be sure trans throttle lever and throttlr body lever move in sync with each other.

SOURCE: 1999 DODG 3500 AUTO TRANS SHIFTS TO 2ND WITH A LITTLE HELP

I have a 1999 Ram B 1500 Van, auto transmission, 5.9 L engine.
Same problem, trans hesitates in 2-3 upshift, sometimes 1-2
to 2-3 upshift. Posts trouble code P1756 - Transmission Govenor pressure too low at below 15 to 20 Psi. Transmission pump shot or valve body leak stops trans from reaching proper pressure to shift, which is minimum 15 Psi.
Either trans is leaking in valve body, valve is stuck, shift solenoid on valve body is sticking, or pump is shot.

2004 Ford Sportrac having problems with trans OD flashing on and off and sticking in gear?

When the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) isn't engaging or locks in engagement the light flashes a warning...The TCC solenoid may stick due to dirty transmission fluid...If the Check Engine Light
(CEL) is not lit have your transmission fluid changed...If it is lit the code is probably pointing at a defective TCC, Computer (PCM) or the clutch itself... you can take the vehicle to an auto parts store and have them read and define the trouble code for free...saailer

Suzuki shifts in and out of 3rd

2001 Esteem
A/T tranny.? 4speed?
(check fuses yet?)
this transmission shifts via the TCM electronic brain.
and will throw (store, or live) DTC errors.
IN USA all these cars are OBD2 compliant and all scan tools
work here, you plug it in , and drive and see if there are TRANNY
DTC errors. all cars 1996 and newer, do that. (for sure Suz)

these errors are covered in the FSM and tells you what tests
to do , to isolate (and diagnose) what is wrong.
in and out.
what does that mean.?
to a false neutral? or to 2nd? what?

btw2, the TCM on this car also goes to limphome mode.
when certain DTCs are set. and will skip gears at that moment.
my suz,, both skip 2nd gear in limphome mode.
The TCM needs good inputs or it can't work right.
it has many inputs.
shifter switch PRNDL.
VSS1, VSS2 (veh,speed,sensors)
TPS. (throttle angle.)
ECT. (engine heat)
btw3:
this trans, 4speed, you can do the unplug test on it (FSM)
and it works like a manual transmission, see the FSM for how to do that, this test proves the trans is ok, and the TCM is cause or its inputs are bad.

I have a 2000 suzuki esteem and check engine light is on. the o/d light keeps flashing but no problem with the car shifting

You would need to have the computer scanned for trouble codes to proceed.
Most auto parts stores will scan for free in hopes of selling you parts you may or may not need. The codes are a guide to what you should test not replace.
The flashing O/D light could mean the computer has a problem with the transmission or the engine is not able to use overdrive.
