Hi in the door pillars are movement sensors for the alarm, if you have some thing like an air freshner hanging from the rear veiw mirror or any thing else that has the potental to move it will set the alarm of, behind the drivers seat on the bottom of the door pillar is i small square button pressing this will turn the movement sensors of, untill you next unlock the car which will reset this switch so you will have to press it again next time you leave the car to deactivate them again, or just make sure there is nothing in the car that can move and set them of, hope this is of help.

Ive just bought my audi a4 S.E 1.8 petrol 1998.. with 164k...when i bought it the abs lightt was on and also the brake warning indicator light comes on and stays on flashing, and at the same time the abs...

as the mot only says the "brakes work"to a certain efficiency,(the tester does NOT check the depth/thickness of the pads),chances are your pads/discs are in need of replacement.the pads have sensors in them for wear depth, so when checking the pads, front AND rear the abs sensors can be cleaned, and if done by a seat/skoda/vw/audi dealer they can put it on the diagnostic computer to give you a definative answer (this is cheaper than guessing) I replace the pads myself but get the car "diagnosed"when any red light shows.

Ive gota 2006 audi a4 sline when a oil pressure light came on it stil drives does not rev over 2000 revs and throws alot of black smoke owt what isit

Black smoke is a sign of excessive fuel, there is something wrong with the fuel injection or one of the sensors which is sending an incorrect signal to the unit, perhaps it is still inn start enrichment. The oil pressure switch could be linked to the start system and the switch is either faulty or the engine oil pressure is failing.

1999 A4 audi 1.8T

Hi A J Mae,
Do you mean the traffic indicators,( turn signals) or do you mean the dash board indicator lamps? If it's the dash warning lamp indicators, they work on a fail safe system, when you turn the ignition on before the start position, all the lights will come on untill start up and ten they will go off automatically within a second or two....if they stay on with the engine runnig you have a problem we have not covered here.
That will be your hazard warning switch, the one that will be flashing on the dash with a triangle showing on it....If that doesn't do it it'll be something to do with the anti theft device...get out of the car lock all the doors and then press the button on the key fob
