I wasn't complety clear my 04 rio 5 makes a weird sound only when the car is moving. Kind of like something stuck in a bikes spoke....also sounds like it is coming from the rear end of the car.

Humming sound when you drive

check the u- joints for looseness. The humming noise may be harmonic vibration from u- joints, un balanced drive shaft, or incorrect operating diff angles.. Check what tires you are running as certain tread patterns will produce a hum on certain hard surfaces.

Humming sound undercar

Does this happen at all while turning the car? It could be a hub bearing. Just replaced mine and it was a humming sound. It would be pretty loud around 15 to 40 mph but got quieter after that.

Humming sound while driving

if the noise changes if you swerve on the road it would lead towards a wheel bearing if it stays the same rotate the tires and see if the noise changes to the rear

I have a new muffler but the car has a humming sound that can be mistaken as a muffler problem at first sound what should i do

Harmonics are tough to diagnose via afar. I'd have a competent shop/tech test drive it with you and have him/her listen to it. Could be wheel bearing, drive shaft/u-joint or many other possibilities.

Humming sound coming from rear of car when driving

Only when moving? Does pitch change with speed of vehicle?
Generally a humming sound from rear is a fuel pump warning you that it is getting near the end of its service life. You usually notice that more, however, when the car sitting still running and you walk around the rear of the car.
Wheel bearings can make a variety of different sounds, mostly noticed in the first half mile of driving. A "whomp whomp whomp" pulsing sound is the most definitive wheel bearing sound.
Slotted or drilled brake rotors can make a humming sound, but I doubt anyone put those on a '94 5 Series. Worn tires can get pretty noisy, but you would have figured that out if it were the problem.

Loud annoying sound when driving over 35 mph

Check the fluid level and make sure. If the fluid level is not the problem, I would have someone do a complete check on the front end.
