Fan not working and a/c not cooling properly

If the cooling fan on your Yamaha RTX snowmobile is not coming on, there are a few things you can check:

If you are referring to the fans both running when the A/C is on, if the high side of the system (condense temp) does not get to a certain temp calling for the second fan, it will not turn on. The single fan running without A/C would normally be for cooling the engine temp (antifreeze).

The cooling fans are supposed to run any time the a/c is on in order to keep air flowing across the condenser. Your a/c will not work properly at idle if they quit.

Hi Dan:
If the cooling fan is not working the normal routine would be to replace it. Before doing that be sure that all of the other components (Radiator, thermostat, water pump, coolant, hoses) are working properly.

Cooling fans working properly?

Air in the cooling system?

Damaged/clogged radiator?

you may find that the cooling fans only run at half speed when the a/c is on they might be set that way & run at full speed when the engine starts to overheat (in stop & go traffic) the a/c may need regassing that's why it is not cooling properly.....hope this helps...... cheers..
