My 1998 Daewoo Leganza D-TEC Manual 2.0l is leaking oil from the rocker cover and my car starts smoking after it travels about 10 km, but when it is cold it seems to run fine, I hear a double knock sound sometimes when I acceleratre then the smoking really gets bad. there is also oil going back into the air intake manifold/fuelsystem, the service station just replaced the oil and filter. There is also a ticking noise coming from the top cam section, the mechanics say the motor is should be replaced? what could the problem be?

Its worn out and needs an engine rebuild ,what happens with these cars is that without regular oil changes the inside of the engine builds up with a lot of carbon black gunk this then breaksa down when it does get a oil change and then blocks the oil pick up pipe filter ,Causing oil starvation which is what you have had happen ands so the big ends are now noisey and the tappets with worn piston rings .New engine

My 2001 Daewoo Leganza is leaking oil from the valve cover gasket how to fix this? What do you do?

Replace the valve cover gasket. On mine, the valve cover was warped and I had to get a replacement from the salvage yard to stop the leak

Ticking noise from engine

You might have a bad hydraulic valve lifter (assuming this engine has them)... you could try an aftermarket product designed to unstick valve lifters.... any auto parts store carries them.

I just bought a 2000 model Daewoo Leganza (2.2l dohc engine) I was servicing the engine and decided to check the spark plugs, only to find I could not see them as they were immersed in engine oil. Car...

When the gasket goes bad, the engine will leak oil like crazy, which is what mine is doing at the moment.

As far as I know, it's really easy to replace the head gasket, which is something I'm in dire need of myself. You just unscrew the bolts, take the top part off, replace the gasket, and screw it back together.

I have a service manual, if you'd like to e-mail me..I can forward it to you.
