Question about Nissan Altima

1 Answer

Sorry my car was not listed so picked Altima 2003 Micra Intelligent key fob not working properly. Can drive the car but cannot open or lock the doors. Did get fob wet. Now dried out. Worked for first few days when pressed button on door handles. Would not work pressing open/close buttons on fob. Then stopped working. Tried new battery. After putting in new battery, first try locked the door when pressing the door handle button, but then would not open the door. Had to use emergency key. If press button on door the red light flashes on the fob, but the door does not lock. Help please. This is my only fob and I now can't lock the doors.

You are going to need to check the power lock control moduel on the inside of the door panel. If the FOB appears to be working but the doors are not unlocking, you need to check this. I would also replace all fuses that control the locks. If both of these devices check out ok, you may need to replace your FOB. To check your power lock control moduel, manually lock and unlock your doors by pressing the lock button on the inside of the door. If it does not work, it is either the fuses or the power lock control moduel. If it works, your FOB has gone bad. Hope this helps! Please rate 4 thumbs up!

I changed my car battery, now my 2008 Nissan Altima key fob won't work

There is a special procedure involved in keying your fob to your car once the battery has been changed. You must lock and open the door with your key. Turn the ignition to "on"(not start) then push the fob's open and close button, then shut off ignition. This procedure is done everything the key battery is changed. Hope this can help you!

2011 Nissan Altima - trunk will not lock and if you push button on trunk after locking with key fob and it opens up - what's up with that?

My wife is in San Francisco on business right now. She is driving this vehicle as a rental and found out that the trunk can be opened after you have locked the car the hard way. Her luggage and computer was taken from the trunk because of an outer trunk release button that you can access. Nicely done Nissan. Thanks. (sarcasm)

There is an over ride manual opening on the passenger door (remove plastic part of door handle).

Key fob interference problem 2003 altima

Hello and thank you for using FixYa!

Most likely the remote has failed. If you have another remote for the car, try it. All features should work on the spare remote. You will need to get another remote and program it to correct this. Here is a link on how to program it.

Hazard lights flash by themselves, doors won't stay locked (unlock by themselves) key fob won't work.

I has a similar problem and I just took the battery out of my remote. I think there is a problem/ short in the remote. It's as if the button is being pressed when it is not. I will use my spare one in the mean time. It was driving me crazy becuase I was driving long distance at the time and when I removed the battery it stopped. I hope this works for you!
