My 99 Century Buick wont start

I have a 99 Century Buick and when I try to start it, It wont start my battery is good. I changed the starter thinking that it was the starter and still, Ive got nothing. I believe that it could be a security problem. Because I use to have that problem a long time ago. I would have to wait a couple of minutes and then it will start. All the lights still work on the dash board. Can anybody help me with this issue.

the same thing happens to me as well. but not every day.it does it out of no where . i also believe that its a security problem. when your car does that does the security light keep blinking ? mine does and stops right when its about to start again. someone here suggested that it could be bad contacts in the cylinder but i bypassed the resistor when i installed my remote start system. it even does it with my remote start.

This vehicle uses a passlock security system that uses a coded key. Since this requires a Tech 2 scanner to program, this maybe a concern to have your local Buick (or GM) dealer look at. The symptom you are explaining, sounds like the passlock system has been activated. If you have another key for this vehicle, you may want to try it before calling the dealer.Good Luck

1990 Buick Century Limited 6cly wont start turn over or crank

Usually if the battery is dead, you will hear clicking. If the battery is good then I would check any Starter fuses/relays. If they are good then I would check for power to the starter solenoid. You can find many youtube videos on how to check this.

So the lights and the radio work so i know is not the battery but the car will not start and it doesnt make a sound so i think is the ignition problem so i dont know where is the solenoid located on a...

The solenoid is located on the starter so if the starter doesn't function then it could be a bad starter which will have to be replaced with a known good one.

But, I would try replacing or charging the battery to max. voltage to see if that makes a difference.
Sometimes, the lights and radio work, but there isn't enough charge on the battery to supply enough 'current' to the starter which takes up more current than the lights and radio combined.

Also, try to clean the battery terminals to maximize current and voltage to the starter.

Starter seems to be out on 2003 Buick Century- it

have battery tested first, if you have a good battery, replacing the battery is a fairly simple task with good jack, jack stands, and a few metric sockets and wrenches.
