REPEATED CODE RETRIEVED WITH SNAP ON 2500 SCANNER ...PO722 DISC. OUT PUT SPEED SENSOR. SENSOR HAS BEEN CHANGED AND MAKES NO DIFFERANCE IN CODE IF PLUGED IN OR NOT TWO SENSORS TRIED.THIS WAS A USED TRANS INSTALLED AFTER THE ORIG HAD FAILED .[BAD CASE] TRIED ORIG SENSOR AND ONE FROM USED TRANS. VEH ALSO HAS CODE P1618 AND P1633 . COULD THIS BE A ABS MODUALE PROBLEM CAUSING THE OSS SENSOR CODE TO POP UP WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE ARROW ILLUMINATES ON DASH FOLLOWED BY HARSH SHIFTS. DATA IS LIMETED WITH THE 2500. CANT GET INTO THE ABS SENSORS.
You need to read it with volvo scanner/but its probably the abs control unit
what were the codes from volvo /1633 is generic code that converts over the volvo code would be ECM-510F speed signal that comes out of the brake control module(BCM) and must be diag there/what is 0722 what control unit is it from ECM/TCM/CEM/BCM this can be some deep stuff your into
ECM 530d is fault in another control module/ TCM0028 is 1st gear incorrect gear ratio /does the trans part# match the (software) in the tcm cotrol modul, has any thing been replaced/

We did have it scanned at volvo dealer , they came up with same code and said we should try changing the sensor .( as I told them prior to them scanning that I had already replaced it with one from there parts dept.)What they didn't do was to check for output at the sensor . I belive it's suppose to make AC voltage with the wheels turning ,but I don't have a scale to know if voltage is correct for speed driven.are ther more than one type of sensor from 1997 to 1999 units like rabs verses dig. seems like. all scanners say the same thing. thats why I thought ABS. but dealer didn't pull any codes for that or would they have had to go into ABS mod itself
THE CODES RETRIEVED AT THE DEALER WERE TCM 0028 AND ECM530D.VEHICLE SPEED SENSORFAULT-NO SIGNAL FROM SENSOR.SUGGEST REPLACEMENT OF SENSOR AND RETEST. THIS IS THE EXACT PRINT OUT FROM THE DEALER
TODAY I PULLED THE TRANSMISSION OUT AND REPLACED IT WITH ANOTHER . AS I HAD MENTIONED THIS WAS A USED UNIT THAT HAD BEEN INSTALLED AND WHAT THE PROBLEM TURNED OUT TO BE WAS THAT THE USED UNIT ALSO HAD A WORN CASE . CAUSING THE RELUCTOR TO WOBBLE GIVING THE SENSOR INTERMITTANT SIGNALS .THAT WHY WHEN I CHECKED FOR AC VOLTAGE IT HAD VOLTAGE . BUT AT ROAD SPEED IT WASN'T EXACTLY WHAT THE COMPUTOR WAS LOOKING FOR . ALL WORKS GREAT NOW. ONCE AGAIN JUNK IS USUALLY JUNK THANKS AGAIN TO THE USED CAR DEALER WORK ..
