    similar problem....I have 2004 Honda Civic VP. The lights attached to the trunk lid (license plate lights and both inside round tail lights) do not work. However, my breaklights (outside two on fender not part of trunk lid and center break light in windows work fine). I have checked the #2 fuse under the hood as well as chenged bulbs. Need some help thanks ....a little confused on how to look for #12 or wires in transmission....

    I have a problem with my rear hazard lights and backing up reverse lights. The car was in an accident in the rear and I cannot find out why the lights wont work. I have replaced the light bulbs and checked the wiring. It seems that one of the wires that goes to the tail lights were out and I cannot figure out where it goes. Can You Please Help Me??

Hey i had about the same problem the tail light s on the trunk led and the license plate light wouldn't work, But when I opened up the trunk they came on. So I messed around with it and them. right where the black tube with wires inside leaves the trunk led and is hooked to the car frame I cut it open. Lord and behold a set of 3 wirs were hooked to a single wire and they had pulled apart. it's either the ground or poss. I spliced an extra inch of wire into the line and they all work fine now. guessing you have the same problem. the wire seemed like it was being pulled very tight. But not anymore. Hope this helps you

There could only be three possible reasons why the backing lights will not work:

  • missing +12 supply (might be a fuse);
  • reverse switch (in the transmission). This has to checked visually and likewise check the connectors. You can verify if it is indeed the switch by turning ignition on (but not crank and engine not started), short the two wires/connectors going to the switch and visually checking if the backing lights will lit up;
  • busted bulbs; remove, check/replace.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

I have a 2001 Pontiac Montana and none of my lights in the back work . I dont know.what it may be and dont know how to fix plz help.

If none of the lights in back work, it sounds like something happened to the main wiring harness. Which is probably beyond your ability to repair at home.
If the parking lights and turn signals work in front you know the fuses are good, so they should also work in back.
The parking lights, turn signals, back up lights and brake lights are on 4 different circuits.

A/c panel lights dont work why ?

The heater control panel is sealed so you can not access the lights. They simply go out and you have to replace the panel to get lights back.

1997 mustang rear running lights dont work front

assuming you have brake lights and marker light, I would check the socket for voltage, both the contacts and probe the wire (Brown) for could be a bad socket.... if no voltage, trace the "Bwn" wire back and keep probing til you find voltage, check the connector in the trunk on the LT/RT side also...hope this helps you...GL

Turn signals and back up lights dont work, bulbs and fuses good. Blinker lights only work in dash when emergency flashers are on.

Test the circuit board wires on the back side of your taillights where the bulbs go in to see if power is going there with the blinker on, if yes replace the circuit board (quite common with these trucks). If there is no power back there check your flasher relays for each turn signal, assuming they dont click off and on when you tip the turn lever. if all else fails, head for the multifunction switch behind your steering wheel inside the column that your turn signal/wiper/cruise control lever is connected to.
