HI!!
Try servicing the transmission, (fluid and filter change) and adding a RESLONE Transmission Stop Slip and Seal, available at AutoZone or similar Auto Parts store.
Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

My automatic transmission is slipping once the car gets warm in my 1986 honda accord LX-i

Once a transmission slips-- it is done

Time for a rebuild

THERE IS NO OTHER SOLUTION

It slips,it has done that for awhile, that is an
internally worn out trans

1986-- I would get rid of it

You never install a used trans & $2,500 for a reman
or rebuild, makes no sense.

The whine is a worn out pump or stuck pump valves

If you have been driving a transmission with any slipping,
you most likely have ruined it,I guess you know that

If this just started today ,then you may be able to diagnose
a solenoid issue & possibly resolve

Need a trans repair shop

Getting warmed up & only then slipping, can take your
thought process in many directions

Without pulling it out,you need to find the best diagnostic

2004 grand cherokee is slipping in multiple gears

Bands inside the transmission expands when they get warm Which can cause this issue. If your have stretched bands you will need to either replace them at a shop or new transmission. Or if you have a warranty of some sort.

On a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, the transmission slips when warmed up but does not slip when it is cold. Any suggestions or solutions?

when cold, fluid is thicker. When hot fluid is thinner. The thicker, the more pressure if can withstand. Try gettings some Lucas transmission fix. if that doesent work, prepare for a transmission rebuild.

2004 ram3500 transmission slippage when warm

Hi, transmission slipping normally does not occur when the transmission is warm, as warm temperatures favor proper working of the automatic transmission systems. Nonetheless, if problems such as, broken transmission bands, gears or torque conversion already exist, then the transmission might slip even in warm temperatures. Another situation may arise, if the fluid suffers from contraction in cold weather and gradually the weather warms up sufficiently, to expand the internal parts and fluids. Then due to cold weather, a small transmission problem might occur. However, the problem may be too small to affect the vehicle. However, warm weather cannot be directly linked to transmission slipping.
