Draining battery alternator is good (had checked), something is draining every battery we put in it. Could this be a relay, short, or give us an idea where to start. Thanks

Check for parasitic load.it consumes your battery even the car is not running.an example would be the car alarm.another one is relays. check all the relays.

I have just changed the alternator on my 2002 BMW 316i 1.8 and its still not putting power back to battery, the car just coughs after two mile and dies. It wont start, any ideas if not the alternator

Most likely you have either a bad relay, or a short circuit. My 1998 had a relay someone had put in that was the wrong relay such that it caused a current drain. Use amp meter between battery ground cable (disconnected from battery) and battery ground post to see how much drain exists, then pull relays one at a time to see if one stops the drain. If not, do the same with fuses to find the bad circuit and fix drain.

New alternator not charging 2000 Ford Excursion V10

Check for blown fusible link and possible bad relay. On relay, with everything off and hot battery hook u battery and give it ten minuets or so, then feel the top of eac relay. if you find a warm or hot one Bingo!

2005 chevy equinox changed battery and alternator and still drains battery the next day or two

First are you sure the alternator is charging the battery ?
If it is, someone will need to pull fuses and disconnect major circuits until you find the drain. It could be a simple relay, or a short to ground in the harness somewhere.

Problem with lights on my tracker it drain's my battery i have a good altnator on it

If the lights drain the battery when the engine is running, then you have a bigger problem of the alternator not charging, not working. When the engine is running, the alternator supplies all the current to run the car's electrical systems, while also charging up the battery for the next start-up. If you know the alternator is good, then maybe a fuse or fusible link has blown, preventing the alternator from working. To check, put a voltmeter on the battery with engine running-it should show over 13.5 volts if the charging system is working. If the alternator is not putting out, the voltmeter will read same voltage on the battery as when the engine is not running. A fully charged battery should show "around" 12.6 volts. A discharged battery will show less than 12 volts. That should give you an idea of the range to look for on a voltmeter. I believe some parts stores will check the voltage for free. I know most stores will test the alternator and battery for free if brought into the store, but you need the voltage read while on the car and engine running. If the system is charging normally and the lights kill everything, you may have a short in the lighting system.

I have a 97 galant that keeps blowing the 100 amp fuse? alternator tested good twice checked wiring reads good is there another fuse ?

Usually that fuse powers the alternator and the fuse box.
It would have to be a big short to ground to blow that fuse.
Its possible the main wire to the alternator is touching a metal spot, or the alternator is shorting out inside when it is running.
What is draining the battery may be something else, or the battery could be discharging after the fuse blows if the alternator is not charging it.

If you don't run the blazer everyday something drains the new battery. is there a known common short. have had it to 3 different garages and no one can figure out the problem

Not that I know of.
If the battery is good, you would have to check every circuit for a power draw. Common problems with any car would be the alternator, a relay, or a light on.

My Eclipse is having problems keeping a charge in the battery. I have installed a new alternator and battery and the battery continues to drain, making it impossible to get my engine to turn over and...

it sounds like you may have a parasitic drain on the battery. to check, you'll need a multimeter set to check amperage. disconnect the negative terminal from the battery, put the black lead from the multimeter on the negative post on the battery. put the red lead from the multimeter on the vehicles negative cable. you should see a short spike (a second or two) initially for the security system, relays, etc. after that, you should only see a draw of approximately 30-40 mA for the digital clock, radio memory settings, etc. it's also possible that you may have a bad diode in your alternator, which would allow it to draw current away from the battery when the vehicle isn't running. using the same method, check the battery drain after unplugging the alternator's electrical connector.

My batterys dont charge after a long run or short i hasve to recharge them to start the car i have checked them with a batterys tester and they are ok but something is drainning them or not charging them...

Check voltage at battery before you start, then start & check voltage while running. Obviously your battery reading should start climbing to 13.5 - 14.5 VDC when engine running, otherwise alternator is defective, unless that car has an external voltage regulator on it. Make sure your alternator belt is in good shape & tight, and all connections at battery, & alternator are clean & in good shape. To find a battery drain when vehicle is shut off, use a 12vdc test light connected between positive connection & battery post. If the lights on, you have a drain, & start removing fuses to find the culprit, or remove all & start putting them back in until light comes on bright. Now you've isolated the circuit causing the draw. should give you an idea where to look. Remember your radio will have a constant small draw for memory function.
