Question about 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

The a/c drain was clogged so that was fixed but by putting a 1/4' hole in the round box underneath the dashboard. But the dealership said that i put a hole in some type of heater hose? and that water was collected in the heater box. Does this sound right? will i have to replace the heater box? or will it be ok? Please help.

I had the same problem. Drilled a hole in the round plastic extension beneath the glove box, behind the carpet. Now run a coat hanger through it, follwed by alot of compressed air. It may take several times, debri from above may be continuosly replugging drain. when you are done, clean thoroughly, and patch with hot melt glue. Good luck.

Plug it in one of the contacts of the flash box (it uses to be a round aluminum round box with 3 contacts) trying the one that fits. Find in your dashboard a place to place the lamp. You can make a hole in the lower part of the dashboard, near the steering column.

I think the evaporator drain is clogged on my 1996, How did fix the drain and stop the water from fulling up again

Look under the dash, behind the glove box compartment There is a hose about 1/2" diameter, it runs from the heater/aircon blower box and to the flooring( sometimes on the firewall ), pull it out and use a flexible to insert inside the hose tubing.
Pour some water and insert the flexible hose untill all the dirt and grimes come out of that hose. dot that until you make sure that water flows freely from that hose.
Put it back again and its all fix up.
Hope that helps you out.

Water is running from the aircon on the the carpets .

Check your evap hose. It may be pluged up.

There is a small 1/2" hose under the evap make sure it is not clogged or pulled out.

2 problems.1- the tail gate and the tailgate glass of my my mitsubishi endeavor 2004 does not open. 2- the AC evaporator drains water into the driver flooring, where is the out put drain opening /pipe...

it is a fuse for the glass. The a/c drain is underneath the car, it is not a hose. The drain is located under the hood on the drivers' side. You will have to get under the vehicle, it is to the left of the steering wheel linkage. A bolt is coming through for the accelerator and there is a hole to the left of the bolt and on the bottom of the hole is where it drains from it is like 3/4" down and 3/4" towards the driver side. A stiff wire or pipe cleaner will fit into the nipple, it is not easy to get to but it can be got to. If it is not clogged then it is the actual rubber seal and you will have to find a piece of hose to fit around the nipple and allow all the water to drain through the hose. Hope this helped tim

We have a water leak inside the car.How do you get into the dashboard to find the heater box of our 1999 Daewoo Leganza

Water leaks are usually from seeds and leaves accumulating in the fresh air inlet and plugging up the drains.
Open the hood and clean out the fresh air inlets near the windshield.

If you do need to access the dashboard, it is always done from underneath. You wear a hat and put your head on the floor, with your feet in the air on the seat back.

Ac leaking water inside of car

The '97 Jeep does not have a hose. It goes into the frame. If you lay on your back by the passenger side door you will see an oval hole. Stink a coat hanger through that hole and water will gush out. Also in the passenger side floor board towards the firewall there is a black plastic part, the bottom portion is round. Drill a hole in the dead center of the round part and water will flow out. Stick a long piece of stiff wire in it, blow it out with air and do the same from the bottom of the frame as mentioned earlier. It will flow out nice at first but will probably clog up again. I cut a piece of coat hanger and left it in the bottom portion, put electric tape over the hole in the dash and when I see it is not flowing - check frequently I shake the wire from underneath and it flows again. After owning a jeep for 6 months I have concluded that jeep engineers are stupid careless people.

Can not locate duckbill drain on 05 Endeavor Passenger side of firewall

I assume you are referring to the AC drain.

It is located on the driver side, just toward the center from the gas pedal.

From the outside, you will not be able to see it. It is located in a box in the frame and does not protrude all the way out.
You need to be underneath the vehicle to reach it at all.
On the frame right where the brake line packs turns from horizontal to vertical is a hole roughly 1" in diameter. Facing the vehicle, the drain is in that hole, 1/4" down and 1/2" to the right.
You can feel it if you stick your little finger in the hole so that your finger bends down a little.

If you have an AWD endeavor, this is even more difficult to reach, and should be left to someone with a lift to put the vehicle in the air.

Ac drain pluged and leaks inside pass front , how do you correct this??

in general you have to disasembly complete ventilation and clean it. It is a lot of work. I usualy fix this bit difrent: I drill a small hole (4mm) from inside the car (co driver side.bottom black plastic ventilation box). Just on oposite side where the drain is. then go inside with some hard wire and clean the drain and on the end blow some compresed air. usualy some leaves block it becouse Grand cherokee does not have cabin filter. On the end put some screw in the hole that wather will not drop in the car and you can use it if it clogs again some day.

My Air Conditioner Drain is plugged. Where is the

-- open the driver's door
-- locate where the air conditioner blower box is attached to the passenger side of the firewall - see photo #1 - look to the immediate right at the top of the gas pedal arm
-- condensation flows toward the front of the vehicle through the firewall at the leftmost edge of the air conditioner blower box - drain channel
-- open the hood and stand next to the front wheel on the driver's side
-- look down at the firewall over the battery and to the passenger side of the brake master cylinder - see photo #2
-- locate the small diameter metal lines running horizontally and attached to the engine compartment firewall
-- locate the hole in the engine compartment firewall panel behind the small diameter metal brake lines
-- this hole leads to the drain opening in the air conditioner blower box mounted in the passenger compartment
-- follow the brake lines as they run from under the vehicle and turn toward the front wheel on the driver's side
-- locate the hole in the engine compartment panel behind the brake lines
-- insert a short length of stiff wire into the hole through the engine compartment panel to unblock the drain hole

98 mirage manual gearbox where is ,filler and drain plugs

raise your car. make sure you have jack stand and use them before you crawl underneath.

go under your transmission and look for a hexagonal nut or plug at the very bottom of the transmission or gear box.
that is the drain plug. it is very tight , i warn you.

then after you drain all the oil, replace it and tighten it too.

then look for almost the same size of bolt at the side of the transmission or gear box.

this is the fill hole and at the same time the full hole plug.
if the new oil that you are putting in is already over flowing out of the hole, put back the plug right away because that is the full level already.

you can use a hose that would fit just through the hole and insert it to your new gear oil. then let it pass trough gravity towards the gear box.

tnx 4 using fixya,
