Down on front bottom of engine block. Follow the spark plug wires to coil packs and ignition module. Then there will be two or three more wires that run from there down to the crankshaft position sensor.
More then likely yes, I would check your Crankshaft sensor, that what send the signal to the coil packs then to the spark plugs, the sensor is held on with a 10mm bolt on the side of the engine block on the passenger side.
i got a1996 dodge intrepid 3.5 L .the spark plugs 1,3,2 works but 4,5,6 do not work. i changed the spark plug wires, the coil ,the crankshaft sencer and the camshaft sencer.what else could cause this not to start?
The timing light connects to the number one spark plug wire. (closest one to you on right side). Than aim light at crankshaft pulley. You will see a tiny arrow next to the crank shaft, Shine the light with engine running. Point down exactly at arrow. You will see numbers flashing next to arrow on crankshaft. +5 0 -5 You want to arrow to be pointing on 0
Any car that has coil packs and NOT distributor is called distributorless. These cars are self timed by the computer. All the sensors in the car go to the computer. Than the computer adjust timing, fuel release and more.
Replace the inginition wires. buy a good set they run about $70. the engine makes a lot of heat and wires only last a year or two. I replace mine every year seams easiest thing to do.
