Replace the switch, it obviously is wore out and something has moved/broke in it.

After turning of the igition switch and removing the keys the head lights and rear lights stays on.

Head lights and rear lights run on a separate power line than the ignition switch. Those are on a manual switch always allowed power wiring.

Inside lights and electonic locks will not work unless the ingnition is switched on. Problem occurred while we were changing the radio on our 2000 Dodge Caravan.

If you remove and test the IOD fuse located under the hood on the drivers side, make sure its good and then replace it this should fix the problem.

Headlights on 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan do not turn off properly. When we turn them off with the switch, the car doesn't recognize it and it drains the battery overnight.

its probably your day time running lite modgual located on your fire wall if you unplug it your lights will work but you wont have daytime running lights

After the oil was changed on my 2005 Dodge Van, the oil service light keeps coming on. If I turn the van off and restart it, the light goes out and stays out until I restart it again. I had the oil changed...

First... Read your owners manual - page 226 - Turn the ingnition switch to ON (do not start) and fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly 3 times within 10 seconds and then turn the ignition switch to OFF position.
Good luck and keep me posted.

Most likely fault is a ground. But could be anything electrical.

97 cavalier was running but just stopped.

Did you replace the ignition switch or the KEY AND CYLINDER?

These are the only 2 things that can make your engine turn off when you release the ignition switch after starting the engine.

I hope this helps you.

Headlights don't turn off

Easy way to check this is to go under the dash and unplug the remote start.. if the lights go out it is Remote start related, if not goto your local salvage yard and gran another headlight switch.. should be pretty easy...
