My son was coming home from work in his 91 buick park avenue.Apparently the altenator went out and it caused a small fire which melted the belt. He has replaced the altenator,belt and small plug from alternator but it still dies as soon as the battery loses juice. He has had altenator checked. Everything seems to be find but the juice is not getting from alternator to battery or from battery to engine. Please help if you can. He just got this job and he really needs his car to get to work. Thank You Mimmof4

The alternator has 3 wires. 1 to battery, 1 to ground,1 to selenoid. (maybe more depending on car) A commom mistake is to switch the selenoid and battery wires. wires. Try switching them even though it might not seem right. My old mustang said "B" on alternator so i put that to the battery. I was wrong. cost me 85 bucks for them to just switch a wire. So maybe try switching em.

Need a picture of firing order on a 1991 Buick Park Avenue

Check this site I believe the black images is the coil pack firing order. I used a coil pack from a different model but had to open it up and change the firing order since the spark wires wouldn't reach for my 91 buick. You should have some knowledge about wiring before attempting that. The battery light on my 1994 Buick Park Avenue comes on then goes out. Sometimes I pull over and restart the car and it stays out. What can cause this? Thank you for your advice

That model of car has alot of electrical systems that can cause heavy load on the system. Blower motor on highspeed, headlamps, power windows ,ect.... instead of turning engine off ,try to eliminate the load and see if that helps. I would suspect a weak ,or too small of a battery ,or the altenator
is not working at full capacity

I replaced the battery drove home then went out to start it and wont start...battary good turns over...starts with starting fluid.

Try moving the gear shift lever as you turn the key to start this worked for my son on his Park Ave.

97 Park Avenue shut off while driving

fuel pressure regulator!! located onear the fuel rail. next time after it stops , pull the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator. if gas comes out the vacuum line its the regulator. easy to fix , only need a snapring pliers. part is about $50 bucks.. richie
