I have a MK2 1.8 8V 1990 with k-jet .car started jerking while driving ,i would just switch the ignition on and off then it would be fine again .But it started jerking very bad so i replaced both pumps.Now it starts and idle's for a minute then splutters and coughs then dies when i give throttle .I have checked fuel pressure and compression and that fine.Please Help

1999 Yukon Start Issue - I have replaced the octopuse, battery, fuel filter, fuel pump, still having problems starting in cold weather, sometimes after a heavy rain.

Any suggestions?

Does your battery go dead?

SOURCE: Starts fine, Idles fine, Drives Fine for a while

you might want to chk. the crank sensor and or cam sensor. sounds more to me that it could be fuel problem. chk. fuel pressure. pump could be on its way out. don't be fooled by hearing the pump running as they sound like they are pumping but there not, at least not enought pressure to keep it running. pressure should be around 50 p.s.i.
