Looking at a 1993 Saab 900 turbo for sale, $500.00

Hi, I am looking for a fun comuter car that gets good gas milage and has pep. I am currently looking at a 93 Saab 900 turbo. The seller explained that the lifters are loud almost like they are not getting oil or need to be replaced. He also told me that the car misses. Do you think that it would be worth buying and fixing? If so, what do you think is wrong with it and what kind of gas mileage would this car get. Thank you for your time.

Burkley.

My Saab 900 se turbo 2.0l 4 cylinder Stals out when I push down on the gas pedal. If I release soon enough it cuts back in. any solutions?

Likely has a vacuum hose leak. The hoses all die from the massive heat generated by the turbo engines. Check all the ones on the throttle for cracks.

HI need to no if your car has a turbo gauge if not then the cr is a LPT light presure turbo expain why u have not got a lot of power
if you have got a turbo guage then u can do more too to car to improve it
the valve your looking for is a APC valve that controls the turbo boost
i would recommend a ECU upgrade to avoid engine problems that will cost you more in the long run

Your problem with the APC system. Any perceived fault and you only get base boost. The most likely fault is the boost pressure sensor located under the dash on the left-hand side. when it is bad you often hear the APC solenoid valve clicking at idle.
