'96 Chevy Silverado C1500, 2wd V8 5.0SFI. Truck stalled going down rode, got a code P0102. Fixed vac leak now no code but won't fire when starting. Engine turns but won't fire. MAP sensor new, MAF sensor good, starter coil good, ditributor cap & rotor button new, plugs & wires new, good fuel pressure, battery new, got it to fire with starter fluid but got a funny smell like burnt plastic, metal, n burnt marsh mallows, no vac leaks, no manifold leaks, n still won't start. What else should I do?

. What is the fuel pressure ? Does the vehicle have duel fuel tanks ? Are the the injectors firing ? ECM 1 fuse ,is it good ?

SOURCE: Won't Start.

These trucks have a problem with the catalytic convertor blocking the exhaust causing a no start condition, the three things you need to start fuel, spark and air. Try disconnecting exhaust in front of cat.

It sounds like they have got the distributor out of time. You will need to adjust the distributor. That is what it sounds like.

That eliminates the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors. Have you checked the fuel injector itself for an open winding or stuck valve plunger? There should not be a steady 12 volts to the injector--if good injector, it would be spraying fuel steadily into the throttle body. But at least the engine should try to run if poorly. Take the injector out, dry it off with air, and intermittently apply 12 volts to one terminal while grounding the other. You should hear a click from inside every time you touch 12 volts. If not, replace it. If it does, it may be plugged with debris. Try blowing through it in reverse with compressed air.

REPLACED IDLE AIR YOU HAVE TO ADJUST ITS DIMENSION. MEASURE FROM THE TIP OF PINTLE TO THE MOUNTING FLANGE.YOUR DISTANCE HAS TO BE 1 1/8 INCH.IF NOT ADJUST PINTLE BY PRESSING IT 1 1/8 INCH. YOU NEED TO RESET IDLE BY CYCLE THE IGNITION KEY ON FOR TEN SECONDS THEN OFF FOR TEN SECONDS TO RESET THE VALVE.START THE ENGINE ALLOW IT TO IDLE FOR FIVE MINUTES TURN THE ENGINE OFF FOR THIRTY SECONDS THEN START THE ENGINE AGAIN AND CHECK THE IDLE OPERATION.

Why wont a 96 chevy silverado run ?getting fire

I have 1993 chevy 4.3 pickup that about every three years does the same thing it was the fuel pump relay located on passenger side of firewall under a plastic flap. I went to parts store told them my vehicle and got relay took 5 minutes runs fine again Semper Fi!

code p0410 refers to secondary injection system--malfunction===causes wiring--air valve--air solenoid--- ECM
code p0141 refers to heated oxygen sensor-2 bank1-heater control -circuit malfunction===causes --wiring--oxygen sensor--ECM
code p0128 refers to coolant thermostat --coolant temp below thermostat regulating temperature==causes mechanical fault (thermostat stuck open)
code p0102 refers to mass air flow (MAF) sensor/ volume air flow (VAF) sensor low input===causes wiring short to ground--MAF/VAF sensor ECM

It needs compression, spark at the right time, and fuel to run.
Does it sound like it has plenty of compression ?
Any major vac leaks ?

Well the code 101 is for the MAF sensor and code 341 is for the cam sensor if equipped.
I'm showing a distributor for that engine so its possible something is going on inside of it.
My first guess would be something in the engine harness that was jarred loose.
You might have to test the circuits at the ECM to see if anything is not making the circuit back to it.
If the engine won't idle and the MAF code is present, you could have a large vac leak somewhere.

99 Chevy truck check engine light running lean on fuel

Sounds like a vacuum leak. try spraying carburetor cleaner or starter fluid around vacuum lines and intake while engine is running if you have a leak engine will speed up when cleaner hits leak.
