Question about 2006 Datsun 210
When I crank the engine the car turns on and after going around the block twice it dies. It cranks and cranks but does not turn on. I replaced the distributor cap, rotor, ign coil, ign module and the same problem continues. Only after the car has cooled does it start again, but just for a little while and then dies. I pour gas in the carb and still it won't start. That is when I suspect an electrical problem. The times it does start, it runs smoothly without problems & that exludes the timing chain. Maybe a fusible link has begun to melt and is making partial contact when it cools. I don't know where all of the fusible links are located at and I already checked the regular fuses. Please help. It is a 1.4 79 standard 4 speed.
Turn your crank pulley and line the timing marks to top dead center, pull the distribuor cap and see where the rotor points to, thats where the #1 position is located.

make sure you have it on number 1 cyl top dead center, cause you can actually have it on number 6 cyl instead of number 1... seen it many times, same as on 4 cyl inline... its that inline thing going on...
