I was driving home on a very hot day 107, I only drive 27 miles home. When pulling into the neighborhood my car just shut off. Luckily I was right in front of my driveway, but when trying to restart it started again. Any clues on why this would happen?

Could be a defective fuel pump relay, but cadillacs most likelly do not have that kind of problems, and there is some else, if one of your neighbohoods, has a radio cb, or you see a cb radio antena arrown or a truck driver was using the radio with the ampifier, that will cause the car to stall, i was driving one day in the freeway and that happend to me, and then the car restart by itself because of the speed i was goin, but it never dit it again after that, laso a defective distribuitor will be the cause, i mean ignition distribuitor

check the charging system with the a/c on you are running a cooling fan a blower motor about 30% of a normal alternator out putplug what ever else your running
Either you threw a belt or the water pump isnt not circulating. You can drive to the shop. Just becareful. When you see it getting hot shut er down and let er cool. If you get it too hot you could cook the motor.
Check and see if your alternator is charging Low voltage will cause those lights to come on, as the computer is shutting down.
To check your alternator you will need a volt meter... WITH the engine running you should have about 14 volts coming out. IF NOT you need to replace the Alternator!
it's a default sensor to keep from blowing motor, you need to check your radiator for leaks. If that doesn't fix the problem , change your alternator. :)
