I own a alfa 156 jts, and have the same problem, first I cleaned the maf sensor, then I changed the pedal assy. It came back. Now I have changed the Throttle body Ass\'y ( TPS) and it has fixed the problem. Also a new set of plugs will fix the lumpy problem?

Is there chain on alfa 156 2.0 liter?

If you are talking about a timing chain I think the answer could be no. I have a 2003 Spider 2L JTS which is the same engine as the 2003 156. Before that they had the 2L Twinspark and both have timing belts which need to be replace regularly along with the pulleys and idlers. Much earlier twinspark engines have a timing chain. Have a look at www.Alfa 156.net. Cheers. Brian.

How do i tighten belts on alfa romeo 156

If you are talking about the serpentine belts, you can tighten them from the crankshaft pulley. You will need a large sprocket for this. Put the sprocket in and then move the pulley. This will give you the slack you need to put the belt on.

How do you reset alfa romeo 156 2.0 t-spark radio codes? Pleeaaase!

I just bought a '99 156 & had the same problem. As long as you have the 4 digit code then all you have to do is drive around for an hour (time the 60 mins!!) & providing you have switched the stereo "on" at the beginning the " - - - - " will appear on the front at 60mins. Then just type in the digits! The Alfa has this "anti theft" device on the stereo which also means every time the battery is disconnected you have to drive around for an hour before you do it again!

Timing belt installation alfa 156

remove the fan belt first them start removing the bolts holding on the timing belt cover. once its off you have remove the large pully at the bottom of the engine. Mark up the small pully on the bottom and the two at the top to get your timing, make sure they dont move. release the timing belt tentioner and remove the old belt. you kit should have a new tentioner, idle pully and belt. above all mark sure your timing marks dont move, or your in trouble when you start the car.

yea could be, let it dry out good or a couple days first. it could be a coil pack shorted out or could be plug wires not waterproof.
