Hi i need to know what fuse number is for the front wiper for an audi a3 2005 2.0tdi?

The switch contacts get fouled up and require cleaning, otherwise it's a very expensive job to replace the wiper stalk switch assembly. Found this on an Audi forum (there's a html link in one post to an S5 switch overhaul but I'm not sure if it's the same procedure as a Q5) -

whoever hooked up you hids might have taped into the relay or fuse to the wipers and its not giving enough power to wipers

Replace Fuse no.# 31 - F31 (25A - white color) = Wiper motor. See picture below:

Just saw your post as I was having the same problem. The fuse that you need to look at is #37. I changed that fuse and everything was all good. Apparently the headlight washer pop-ups can freeze up in cold weather and blow the fuse.

have you checked the wire thats runs from the car body through a rubber trunking into the rear door ?? these break so the rear wiper doesnt work

Do you know anything about automotive electronics ? The GEM - generic electronic control module is in charge of turning on the wipers an control the power windows . Would think this a fuse problem . Computer problem maybe , the first step in diagnosing a problem like this would be to hook up a factory or professional scanner an checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Don't think about replacing the GEM module ,if you don't know how to test it's electrical circuits an check for codes . Can set a number of codes !

Hi they can differ on different models, if you remove the fuse box cover there will be a diagram on the back of it look for the picture of a window wiper going over a window.

Try to run a ground test on the motor, If it gets power, then you neeed to replace the switch.. if it doesnt run with the ground test, then you need a wiper motor.

Fuse #11 is the one to pull.
