Battery good? will it turn over?
if good and turns over, check fuses on ignition; might be under hood near battery and also check the ones under dash.
get a diagnostic tool and plug in and get codes will be the fastest way of finding out the problem.
have you taken the plug out and see if it fires..if so, then coil is good. computer could be bad also.
has it jumped timing? whens the last time the timing belt was changed.
good luck

My 1998 Chevy Cavalier turnsover but it won't start. Can someone tell me what is going on??

Three checks you can do yourself if you have a few tools. Is it getting fire, getting fuel, and cranking. Every engine needs both to run.

1998 chevy cavalier and i cant seem to get any fire to plug wires

Your going to have to get it scan for a code. There are to many things that can shut the car down, but you can try checking the crankshaft sensor for bad or broken connections. Good luck and hope this helps

Replace termostat in a 1998 chevy cavalier still run hot

Yes it does have a electric fan, mine went out on my 2003 and I just changed the electric motor itself. Autozone offered the entire fan with motor or they offered just the motor. I chose to replace the motor only because I knew the fan blades and housing was fine. I had to drop the fan down and take out the entire assembly from the bottom but overall the process was a 3 out of 10 on the difficulty.
