Hi there osborne_shay,
Those codes refer to a problem with the drive train in your Avalon. Here is what the codes mean.
PO441-Evaporated Emission Control System / Incorrect Purge Flow
PO402-Excessive gas flow through the EGR valve
The cause for these issues are either that the components are faulty or they just need to be cleaned.

yea its running really rich an rough im going to clean the egr an see what happens thank you very much
I am hear to help. My 4Runner had the same problem. In my 4Runner i had to take off the intake plenum to be able to take off the EGR valve. A few things that you may want to look at if the engine is running rich is some of the sensors. The: Air intake temp. sensor (AIT), throttle position sensor (TPS) and the O2 sensors are afew things that help your engine determine the proper air/ fuel ratio. Check these items, they may need cleaning or replacement. If you have a multimeter you can check the resistance (Ohmic resistance). The Haynes and Chilton manuals will tell you what they should be at and how to tell if they are bad and when to replace. Have a good day!

P0441=EVAP Emission Control System Purge Flow Fault (This
may refer to the system that prevents gas fumes from escaping) P0402= EGR Flow Excessive (This could mean the valve is
inoperative or burned so it cannot close) The latter one means that exhaust fumes are entering the engine when they shouldn't and this will definitely cause a bad idle. An engine can tolerate having its nose up its **** (sucking exhaust fumes into the intake side) after it is revving at higher than an idle.
