Fuel system? I have a 2008 duramax diesel, does this engine use a MAP, MAS, or MAF. I want to install a hydrogen system but will need to know this to acquire the proper electronics to adjust the air/fuel mix. Any and all help on this subject will be welcome. Thank you, Jeff.

Where is the MAP sensor located on a 2008 suzuki

Easter egg hunt , 1million.

no symptoms stated, just one more hunt. ok.
no country stated?
no engine stated?, wow. we are to guess that?
Gas or Diesel.?
not only that , there are 2 EFI system (3 really) MAP or MAF based
some EFI system today use both, (in a smart fashion)
on some cars the map is only used for the EGR test. so..... ????
the car is half GM and Daewoo, in a complex mix of BS.
i say sell it, Suzuki is DOA in USA and Canada, chapter 11. sell it.
here is the engine line up
1.4 L E-TEC I4 (petrol)
1.6 L E-TEC I4 (petrol)
1.8 L Family II I4 (petrol)
2.0 L Family II I4 (petrol)
2.0 L RA 420 I4 (diesel)

Deowoo could not sell cars here. so Suzuki tried and failed.
all this is bad for you and for finding parts.
and add GM engines? wow.
good luck with all that.

the FSM is here for 4 bucks
read it, or post back the symptoms.?????????

2005 ford icon losing power during acceleration i used injector cleaner it became a bit better then sent it to a mechanic who cleaned the intake manifold and sensor but it became worse now he suggests i...

this is a toy forum? , you might try ford for better answers.....?

iCON, you mean IKON< right?

HOT and cold engine,
Is hot idle speed RPM right near 800 and steady, not racing fast?

power loss, is the CEL lamp glowing running, yes, scan it.
post engine type exactly. one of these?
1.3 L I4 (petrol)
1.6 L I4 (petrol)
1.4 L I4 (diesel)
1.8 L I4 (diesel)

so its the first 2, as you said, coil, so its a GAS engine.
power loss, do the 60k tuneup
clean the MAF, sensor. if it has one. ask how. first.
does engine power return , at wide open throttle, held? up hill?
yes/no
if no, weak maf, air leaks or low fuel presssure
if power loss is only brief, then bad TPS.
my guess this engine, is MAP based, no MAF,
if so, then clean the nipple on the MAP sensors.
make sure its not clogged .
If the map works ,any air leaks cause fast idle. and FULL POWER>
so id bet the power loss is from low fuel pressures.
that is why i ask for WOT power up a hill, hot, got that.
if just tip-in power loss (recovers) that is a bad TPS.
the do wear out. easy, at 100k.

there are 2 EFI systems, which one yours has im clueless but can fix both , easy. (maf or map based) aka. air /speed density systems.

Engine racing

time to join the toyota death club.?.. LOL !!!!
eg; floor mats hitting throttle???? nah, nobody is that daft.
which engine options?
1.3 L M13A I4 (petrol)?
1.5 L M15A I4 (petrol)?
1.3 L I4 (diesel)?

but is ok, parked, with trans in neutral??????????
the normal RPM is about 800 hot.
not the word hot, it must be. it must be hot, 180F min. holding
hot. does it? we use a $9 scan tool to scan the ecu
and look at the ECT, does it show, 180F?
like this shows. driving dead cold the engine, warms, see it?
http://www.fixkick.com/my96-16v/TP-MAF-VSS-ECT-FUEL.JPG
the blue line, that is ECT, engine coolant temp sensor.......?
ok we got past rule one, and all fuse are good, we check.

The ECU (EFI BRAIN) in your car controls idle at all times.
GAS ENGINES, diesel we dont have here, in 2005 USA.
in your case, (hot) it does not, so can be only 2 things.
1: the ISC is messed up. (stuck open, so clean it.)
or
2: the EFI fueling is bad, causing #1.
the EFI controls might go rich or lean, and there can be air leaks in to the air intake system, (induction) on MAP engines, it races fast.
on MAF engines, it goes lean and idles slower.
i have no idea what system you have as my on line source skips 2005

what country?
is the CEL glowing key on?> check engine lamp
then stays out running>>>>>?????
do you have a maf sensor on the main air pipe? some are hidden in the throttle body. on some suz.
i believe this car is MAF based, (with map used for EGR tests only)
on very new cars, the MAF can fail, and the ECU is so smart
it can start using the MAP as backup,
or on some newer cars, it uses both , map works best at idle.
most mAF do a poor job at air flow reading at idle, (touch)
that is whats out there......
what does all this mean, simple
you start the engine, the CEL stays glowing, scan it.
you scan it and find the MAF is dead./ engine is in limphome
and in limphome mode idle controls can be DEAD>
ok CEL is out
engine hot, EFI is in CLOSED loop at idle and LTFT is like -4%
long term fuel trim. looks good, so if idle is wrong
the ISC is BUNGED

see what i did there , i used a $9 scan tool to tell me
the EFI fueling is good. so the ISC is bad.
the ISC can be 1 to 3 parts. (iac/iSC parts)
if any stick , it races. or stalls , depends on where is stuck
its just and air valve.
on MAF systems the ISC uses metered air and fuel is mixed perfect
so if it sticks open fueling is perfect and idle is RACING.
that is how EFI works. (fuel, idle, not spark)

i found what you had on the swift forum..... no lack of info there.

random page
http://www.teamswift.net/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=49725

most the questions answered this page are wrong cept last.
the maf on your car has extra capacity, so a bigger one does NOTHING. and the closed loop , will cancel the kids fiddling .
they dont understand EFI.
read

Greg Banish books to see how

all the bits work together. including how hard it is to get idle controls to
work right, its the last thing that does,,,,, work right.
ifcar has MAP total system (speed density ) most of my comments above are bunk,,,,
on SD systems, all air leaks, cause RACING ! apples and oranges different. they are...
to work efi , you need to first know what is there.....

2005 Duramax stopped running.replaced fuel filter and sensor,no luck cam you help.

After replacing the fuel filter did you prime the system? There should be a small circular pump on top of the filter assembly to prime it. I own a 2003 Duramax and it usually takes about 5 pumps / turn over / 5 more pumps / turn over / and 5 more and you should get it started. It will take longer if you didn't fill the fuel filter with diesel before installing it as well. Let me know. Thanks.

I have a Diahatsu, 1992 and it needs a MAP sensor, how do I find out how many bars the MAP sensor should be and how do I know if it is a turbo or super charged engine? It is an EFI, 3 cylinder.

Maf - map( manifold absolute pressure sensor or MAF (Mas Air flow sensor?

Turbocharger looks like a snail
A supercharger llooks like a big tube with ribs that has been flattened a little,
As far as Bars, The specs are usually on the part you will be removing.

Priming fuel system on a 8.1L diesel engine 2001chev 1 ton dual

Well, one problem is, if its an 8.1, its not a diesel. The 8.1, or Vortec 8100, is a gas engine. The DuraMax is a 6.6 engine. There is usually not a priming system on a gas engine, because the fuel pumps will usually get it through the smaller filters used quick enough you dont need them. However, if it is a DuraMax engine, then right on top of the fitting where you mount your diesel filter, there is a primer pump and an air bleed valve. What you do is, open up that air bleed valve ( its a little black plastic octagon shaped thing on the top of the filter mount) then you pump the primer (the silver button looking thing) until you get diesel squiting out the air vent without too many air bubbles or gurgles.
