Sounds like the horn switch in the steering wheel is mashed flat in the closed position. This would be part of replacing the SRS in the steering wheel.

Additionally if the airbag deployed, the pyro loads in the seat belt retractors are most likely locked in place, and also need to be replaced, to have use the seat belts again. The seat belt locked in place is not a good operational usage of them, it is not like a 5 point harness, and can cause an injury if it is locked.

2010 Chevy Traverse airbag deployed when car was idling. The horn had stopped working and the fuse was being replaced.

ur recall is for a side air bag not the one in the drivers steering column Chevrolet Traverse Recalls Cars com also either when in the fuse panel or under dash someone hit the airbag module or the fuse which when vehicle is running can activate the bag can drive but bag is expensive to replace but you may experience the vehicle go into limp mode and will need to check with local law enforcement some areas its ******* to operate with deployed bags

How to rig a horn on chev cav air bags have been deployed ?

Simply run a wire form the + side of your battery to your push button. Make sure you put a 20 amp inline fuse in it. Then run a wire from the other side of the push button to the horns.

2005 Cavalier horn does not work. Stearing wheel airbag missing?

no connection between air bag and horn operation
the air bag is in a section but that whole section presses to activate the horn
can be on either side bottom or top will work the horn
probably right that there is no air bag
you will have to remove the wheel to check the horn contact under the center bit
check for a horn relay operation first

My girlfriends car well the horn stop working?

Go to the horn remove the electrical connectors and jump it directly to the battery. if it works then you have to get the wiring diagram for the horn and check for B+ at the electrical connector to the horn, fuse and relay.
If all is good before you go to the horn switch protected by an air bag on the steering wheel READ THE SHOP MANUAL on stabilizing the air bag before you check out this switch. Remember this could be a $1200 dollar mistake if you deploy that air bag so be careful. Any problems write back I'll get you threw it.

Rx7 horn problem, connected directly 2 battery it works but when i push the horn i dosent and i cant locate the horn relay or fuse..

Did u check both fuse panel one under the hood the other in the cab under or on the side of the dash. Also sometimes the switch inside the stearing wheel will short or just stop working due to dust or excessive force. If the car has a drivers air bag it will be costly to replac this switch due to the explosives used in the air bag deployment system. good luck and good hunting
